Lord’s Supper
November 24th
From My Heart
to Yours
by Pastor David Van Bebber
We want to thank everyone for all
of the gifts and cards given to us for
Pastor Appreciation Month. We are
truly overwhelmed by your great
outpouring of love to us this past
month. I also want to thank Judy
Stuhmer for all of her creative
efforts in organizing everything.
I also want to publicly thank God
for my wife Patricia. This
November 12th marks the 25
th
anniversary of Patricia and I saying
our wedding vows at First Baptist
Church of Joshua, Texas. Proverbs
18:22 says, “He who finds a wife
finds what is good and receives
favor from the Lord.” Patricia has
certainly been good to and for me.
God has blessed our marriage with
three wonderful daughters and I
cannot thank Him enough for my
wonderful partner in love, life and
ministry.
Even though Thanksgiving does not
come this year until November 28th,
it is not too early to begin giving
thanks for all of God’s many
blessings in each of our lives. As
we come together for worship on
Sunday, November 24th, let’s make
it a special day of thanksgiving as
we worship the Lord and observe
the Lord’s Supper together that day.
Bring family and friends with you as
we celebrate Thanksgiving together
as a church with a potluck dinner
following our morning service.
Giving thanks to God helps grow
your faith in Him as you reflect on
how faithful He has been to you in
so many ways. Make it a point in
your private prayers, and publicly,
to give Him thanks this month.
Once again, I am very thankful for
you. I love you very much and I
love being your Pastor!
Happy Thanksgiving!
Shoebox
Collection Sunday
November 17th
Goal- 50 shoeboxes This is a great family ministry project that the whole family can enjoy doing together. Shoebox instructions and labels are on the foyer table. See Patricia for more info.
Thank You! Thank you all so much for
your generosity and kindness!
I am blessed to have a church
family that cares about me and
goes above and beyond to make
sure I am taken care of. The
tools, cards, paintings, gifts,
furniture, and prayers made
moving into a new house, in a
new place, a lot easier than I
thought it would be. Every time
I walk into my house, I’m
reminded of each of you and
your thoughtfulness, and I will
not forget it! Thank you!

Al’s ½ Note We are leaving October for a new
month and new opportunities. We
dedicated October as Pastor
Appreciation Month and I am glad
we did that, but let’s not fall back by
only showing appreciation during
October, but year around!
Likewise, November is celebrated
with being thankful for all that we
are blessed with. Again, we need to
be appreciative all year round, not
just on “turkey day”. We are
blessed more than any nation in the
world with so many blessings too
numerous to mention. We need to
live a life of GRATITUDE for the
uncountable blessings. We have
grown up with all of the blessings
already in place-- being born and
raised in them. We don’t know life
without them. We are spoiled and
are not even aware of it, and we take
them for granted. Living the life as
followers of Jesus, we are to be
zealous, living it wholeheartedly
with ALL our effort and might, not
just when we feel like it. Our
enthusiasm should come from our
heart and soul, noticeable to all
people that the Lord has put into our
midst. We should not allow Satan
and his cohorts to manipulate us in
circumstances and change our
attitude or demeanor. We are
children of God Almighty, living in
dedication to Him and His desires.
Not being influenced by anyone or
any circumstance should be our
heart’s desire. I Cor 10:31--
“whatever you do, do it all for the
glory of God”. That means giving
our all, our best. I Pet 4:11-- “If
anyone speaks, he should do it as
speaking the very words of God. If
anyone serves, he should do it with
the strength God provides so that in
all things God may be praised
through Jesus Christ.”
Let our life be lived in appreciation,
and let gratitude be our attitude.
Luv y’all!
