2MFM SPOTLIGHT
Ayah 97 of Surat Al ^Imran means: {Allah made Hajj to the
Ka^bah obligatory upon those who are able.}
Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds,
and may Allah raise the rank of our
Master Muhammad, and protect his
nation from what he fears for it.
Every Hajj Season, 2MFM has the pleasure
of bringing high quality radio broadcasting
to Sydney Muslims. Our service is not
limited to radio, it is also available
through the 2MFM website, 2MFM app
for Android and Apple, YouTube and
Soundcloud.
Hajj is among the most important matters
of Islam. Performing Hajj and ^Umrah
once in a lifetime is obligatory upon the
Muslim who is free, accountable, and
able. Performing them repeatedly after
that time is considered Sunnah.
Hajj has a special merit that other acts of
obedience do not have, in that it clears
one of all sins, enormous and small. On
this special occasion, 2MFM would like to
wish all the pilgrims and the Muslim
community a Eid Mubarak.

The year 12 students enjoyed an entertaining and informative tour of the station and experienced a close look into some of the studios broadcasting to the community. This included the recording and the on-air studios, as well as gaining an insight into the rich history of 2MFM. Students were also taken inside the studio and given an explanation on how a 2MFM radio program is prepared and experienced a number of skills which included recording and editing. With the skills they learnt they were able to have a go at making their very own radio recording.

Eid-al-Adha
The Eid-al-Adha is one of the great days of the year on which the pilgrim fulfills the obligation of Hajj. It is also recommended for the pilgrim to offer a sacrifice on that day, with the intention to gain rewards from Allah, the Exalted. This act is a regularly practiced Sunnah by the Prophet. Hence, the pilgrim and the non-pilgrim can practice this Sunnah. This is evidenced in Surat Al-Kawthar, the ayah the
meaning of which is: [Perform the ^Id Prayer and
offer a sacrifice seeking reward from Allah]. Also,
Imam Muslim narrated from the route of Anas (may
Allah reward him greatly) that when the Prophet (may
Allah raise his rank) slaughtered two rams with horns,
he slaughtered them by hand and said: <<Bismillah,
Allahu Akbar>>.
2MFM would like to wish the Muslim Community a
Happy and Joyful Eid.
