WATERWOOD OUR HOME

DROUGHT BE GONE

In October 2009, we had rain and rain and rain;we had an election for four WIA Board positions;and we had our annual WIA property ownersmeeting.

HALLOWEEN

Halloween was a fun time in our neighborhood.Donnie Marshall filled a trailer with hay and kids. They went “Trick or Treating” through our streets.

There were lots of decorations throughout ourcommunity. Please see some of these sites onpage 6. We also saw a purple spider crawlingdown the hill on Doral.

WIA BOARD

We have two new WIA Board members, LisaAguerro and Dick Hansen. WNN wishes thosenew members and all of the Board good luck ingoverning WIA business in 2009-2010.

THEY ARE BACK

The last front in October blew the WaterHyacinth into the main lake. It looks like islandsof green floating back and forth in the wind. Theywill probably be with us until a freeze.

CAREFUL WITH YOUR TRASH

Hey folks, we need to be more careful when wethrow the trash into the dumpsters. It costs usmoney to pick up those items that fall out on theground. Also, we are still having those nonWaterwoodians dumping trash.

If you see someone dumping trash without a WIASticker, write down their license plate and makeof vehicle. Call the WIA office, 891-7710, andgive Lisa the information.

HAVE A HAPPY THANKSGIVING

The WNN wishes all of you a very happyThanksgiving.

Waterwood Community Association

Willie Wiginton, Chairman of the WaterwoodCommunity Association (WCA) advises, “The golfcourse and surrounding areas continue toimprove and look better every day.”

The WCA is facing three large expenses early in2010. The annual TRA fee of $10,000.00, forwater usage at the golf course is due January 1,2010.

The irrigation pump motor must be pulled formaintenance in either February or March of 2010.This will cost about $3,000.00.

Before spring, all of the greens will have to becompletely punched and top dressed. The WCAestimates this cost will be between $3,500-4,000.00.

Willie said, “We currently have a financial reservethat should handle these expenses, but it willleave us with an uncomfortable balance.”

Willie further stated, “If our monthly contributionsremain at the current level and we can increaseour membership by 10 – 15, we should be ok,baring any major problems with the irrigationsystem.”

If you would like additional infromation about theWCA, please call Willie Wiginton at 891-7019,Barry Stanley at 8927766, Norton Schump at891-6881 or Andy Wilkie at 891-1175.

Join the WCA and help keep Waterwood andour golf course green.
