PRESIDENTS REPORT
Items discussed at the Committee Meeting on
20th April 2016.
Murray Rudler was welcomed and elected
on to the committee to fill the vacancy
caused by the resignation of Ray Buck as
DOT Examiner.
We still need to find an organiser for the
Charity Run after it was declined by Grub
Kelson.
The timing for the 2 Day Rally is going to
change and we will need to purchase 3 bar
code scanners initially to trial them on
runs before they are used in the 2017 Two
Day Rally. It is proposed that there will be
a bar code on your helmet or bike number
which will be scanned making it more reli-
able than the old system.
The price of the Sausage sizzles on Sunday
Runs will increase from $3.00 to $5.00 due
to rising food costs.
There is a free RIDE RIGHT COURSE on
Saturday 14th May 2016 at the Scout Hall
from 9.00am to 12.00 Midday.
Please register for Presentation Day on 29th
May 2016 either on line or with Glenda Pat-
terson.
Section 13 of the proposed new Constitu-
tion was discussed coming into effect on 1st
July 2016, but we have 3 years to conform
to the new law.
Some rules will have to be implemented
immediately, and some of our Constitution
will need to be re written within the 3 year
timeline.
CAPTAINS REPORT
Busso Mid-Week Ride Report 6 Apr 2016
A nice autumn day with clear skies, a bit
chilly to start with, after the last few rides
had been so hot. There were 15 bikes turned
up, 3 from Bunbury and one with a passen-
ger, but only 3 club eligible bikes.
5
Phil was supposed to have led the ride to Kir-
up but when he arrived at the start point he
had an engine warning light showing on his
Triumph so he decided on the side of caution
and went home. After some discussion it was
decided to go to Kirup via Vasse Hwy and
Cundinup Rd and Darryl led the ride.
After the usual coffee and pies at Kirup we
headed out Brookhampton Rd only to be
turned around at a road block about 4 or 5 Ks
out. After some discussion we headed down
Grimwade Rd to Balingup and then along the
Balingup-Nannup Rd stopping, at Nannup for
a break. After a bit more discussion we head-
ed back to Busselton via Mowen Rd and Sues
Rd arriving at Busselton about 1:15pm.A
good ride with no mishaps or breakdowns.
Peter WHITESIDE.
Mid-Week PM 13-4-2016 21 Riders 1 Pas-
senger
How lucky were we today for a ride -Tuesday
raining, Wednesday beautiful blue skies alt-
hough a bit on the humid side, Thursday
rained so the motorcycle gods were definitely
favouring us. Glen & Ross E. tied for the Jen-
ny award (last to arrive), Ross had to go
home and change bikes because of an electri-
cal problem and Glen had a flat battery when
he jumped on his bike prior to leaving home.
Nevertheless we were only 5 mins late leav-
ing along Koombana Dr, Estuary Dr, Old
Coast Rd thru Australind and Leschenault to
Forrest Hwy, and then down Marriott Rd
where we were joined by 4 more Riders. If
you happened to go on the Glen Britza Ride
we were on the reverse route to Dardanup. It
was really spectacular scenery riding up
Henty Rd for a change, with paddocks now
showing some green after recent rains the
rolling hills look great.
Heading back thru Dardanup, Boyanup where
bridgeworks split the group unfortunately,
NO-ONE WAITED AT THE CORNERS which resulted in some riders unsure which
way to go, luckily they knew we were going
to Capel so arrived there safely for afternoon
tea where John P. noticed that Faye's bike was
leaking oil from somewhere.
Consequently, after a lot of head-scratching
and opinions Faye decided to head for home,
needless to say she made it safely. Most rid-
ers had left by 3.30pm returning home by dif-
ferent routes. A couple of blow-ins who just
happened to be passing while there and
stopped to say hello, Mac M and his wife also
Pommy John on four wheels.
Busso Midweek Ride 20-4-2016
Weather was fine but overcast and remained
that way for the duration of the ride. We had
21 bikes turn up (of which, two were guest
riders) for the ride and one passenger.
Phil led us off (at a brisk pace, my old A7 got
left in the lurch) along Vasse Hwy, Sues Rd,
right into Mowen Rd to Yahava Coffee at
Margaret River for a coffee break, (No pies
there, we will have to do something about
that!) After the break we headed up Bussell
Hwy, left into Carters Rd, with a right at
Caves Rd which is where we all got split up
with traffic, lead foot Phil over shot Abbeys
Farm Rd where we were supposed to turn and
carried on to Wildwood Rd, some turned at
Abbeys Farm Rd, NO-ONEWAITED AT
THE CORNERS.
I think at least one rider went right through
to Dunsborough, however most of us met up
at the truck stop on Busselton Bypass half
way between Vasse and Busselton, not sure
how many we lost?!!Apart from that it was a
good ride with no mishaps that I know of.

Mid-Week AM 27-4-2016 15 Riders 1 Pas-
senger
This morning’s weather wasn’t very flash,
patches of rain but the weather map showed
no rain over Balingup, our destination today.
When Margaret G. and I arrives at Golden
6
Valley Tree Park to setup morning tea a flock
of sheep were milling around the picnic area
however, they soon vacated when the bikes
started arriving disturbing them.
All the riders and passenger where in need of
some warm drinks although there was no rain
it was a bit cold. Faye had bike trouble again
so left early to take the bike to Yamaha. After
everyone had their fill of curried egg sand-
wiches and cakes as well as drinks they re-
turned to Bunbury where it started to rain on
their arrival. Good to see Barry back on his
bike, if only for a short ride!
Faye made it safely to Bunbury however, she
had to leave her bike in the workshop so had
to be pillion on Ross's bike which according
to Faye is the 1st & last time.
Don Collins Run 1-5-2016 19 Riders 1 Pas-
senger & 2 Dogs
This year’s numbers were depleted due to
other events being held. Glen mapped the
course but was unable to ride because he was
roped into a school reunion. The course took
the riders around the chilly Ferguson Valley
to Donnybrook/Boyup Brook Rd, Charley
Creek Rd to the Brookhampton Hall which I
had made arrangements to have access to for
morning tea.
Margaret G. Faye and I got food and drink
organised with the help of Christine C. the
carer of Brian, who is still hobbling on
crutches following surgery. After warming up
with soup, coffee, tea and muffins & cakes
the riders departed for return to Bunbury via
Donnybrook, Hurst Rd. Hynes Rd. Eaton Dr
to Estuary Dr Koombana Dr finishing at
BREC.
Thanks once again to my willing helpers
Margaret, Faye, Christine and of course our
illustrious money collector Brian who was
the star of the hall judging by all the gossip-
ing going on with him.
LIBRARIAN’S REPORT

PUBLICITY OFFICERS REPORT
Bill said that there were already 365 overall
entrants for the South West Motoring Extrav-
aganza on Sunday 15th May 2016.
The gates will be open for those displaying
vehicles from 7.00am to 9.30am and then
locked at 9.45am on Somerville Drive. The
IHC will be situated right in front of the Hor-
ticultural Centre and there is parking for trail-
ers and vehicles close by.
Richard was organising the Club Flags and
Gazebos for the Event. He reminded the
members that were displaying bikes to wear
their Club shirts and they would have to pay
a gold coin donation on arrival. Bill has or-
ganised placards for the bikes which will dis-
play the name and make of the bikes etc.
Volunteers were needed at the TAFE after
3.45pm on Friday 13th to help set up and after
3.00pm on Sunday to help clean up. The area
allocated to the IHC is for up to 55 Motorcy-
cles, and we have at least 40 who have shown
interest so far.

JC has just returned from the Laos and Vi-
etnam Ride organised by Platypus Charity
that helps to educate Vietnamese children,
and said that the ride which was over
2000kms was a great experience. John said
that they got to meet some of the children
that the charity helps, most of them with very
sad tales to tell of their unfortunate lives.
There was one young girl who spoke in bro-
ken English conveying her appreciation of
the riders who helped to make their lives a
little easier, this gave the riders a sense of
pride, and gave the ride a new meaning.
There is another ride organised by Platypus
in November 2016 details are in our Invita-
tional Events elsewhere in this magazine.
