As I look back to my schooling, I’m jealous of the range of subjects offered in school these days – Aerospace Studies, Kickstart and Hospitality just to name a few. I wait with great anticipation for the naming of the 2016 School Leaders and Captains. I remember these students back in 2011 when I taught lots of them. Most of them displayed fine leadership qualities back then too. One of the best things about teaching Primary aged children is being able to see how some of your past students have gone on and achieved great things many years later in Secondary school. Firstly they look very different; they are now young men and women when before they may have been little seven year olds. They once wanted to be Firemen and Vets, now they are seriously considering their University placement and second round offers. They used to go home after school and play on the trampoline, now you see them working shifts at the coffee shop or local Take-away. It is also an excellent feeling to see students who you have spent so much time and effort with, continuing on with the foundations you helped set way back in the Primary School classroom. Really gives you Goosebumps. I think this is just one of the rewards for so many Primary teachers, myself included. Overall, I think that Presentation Night was an excellent showcase of the quality of students here at Mueller College. It really is a place where we can see God’s provision each and every day. Darren Gynther - Head of Primary

Did you get to Presentation Night on

Wednesday evening?

As a keen muso, I was also in the

school band as a student. I loved the

short musical interludes that played

between presentations. We have

some very talented musicians indeed.

As I look back to my schooling, I’m

jealous of the range of subjects

offered in school these days –

Aerospace Studies, Kickstart and

Hospitality just to name a few.

I wait with great anticipation for the

naming of the 2016 School Leaders

and Captains. I remember these

students back in 2011 when I taught

lots of them. Most of them displayed

fine leadership qualities back then too.

One of the best things about teaching

Primary aged children is being able to

see how some of your past students

have gone on and achieved great

things many years later in Secondary

school. Firstly they look very different;

they are now young men and women

when before they may have been little

seven year olds. They once wanted to

be Firemen and Vets, now they are

seriously considering their University

placement and second round offers.

They used to go home after school

and play on the trampoline, now you

see them working shifts at the coffee

shop or local Take-away.

It is also an excellent feeling to see

students who you have spent so much

time and effort with, continuing on with

the foundations you helped set way

back in the Primary School classroom.

Really gives you Goosebumps. I think

this is just one of the rewards for so

many Primary teachers, myself

included.

Overall, I think that Presentation Night

was an excellent showcase of the

quality of students here at Mueller

College. It really is a place where we

can see God’s provision each and

every day.

OTHER NEWS

Are you facing challenges that you’re struggling to make sense of? Are you experiencing life changes, transitions or

loss? Loss is something we all experience sometime in our lives. Loss isn’t just losing somebody close, but can

include loss of home, relationship, job, health, dreams and expectations to name a few. Counselling allows a safe

place to voice your thoughts, fears and feelings. Voicing them to another often enables you to see things from a

different perspective.

Friends and family members can be a great support to us, but are often unable to provide an objective point of view.

A counsellor won’t tell you what to do, but may help you consider choices, decisions and changes to enable you to

live your life more fully. Counselling doesn’t need to be long-term – in fact a single session may be all that’s needed.

Sometimes, though, more is needed over a period of weeks or months. We all differ, face different circumstances

and have differing needs, so respect and confidentiality are assured.

Mueller Community Church Counsellor, Jenny Billingham is available for parents, families, students and

staff at Mueller College. Phone 3897 2706 or 0427 876 396 for an appointment.

(Please leave a message if the phone is unattended) and your call will be returned at the earliest convenience).
