REMEMBERING WOODSTOCK 1969 This issue we pay homage to the originator, the mother of all music festivals, the one that is still talked about, documented and remembered to this day. In August 1969 500,000 people rocked up to a dairy farm in Bethel USA to attend the Woodstock Music & Art Fair. They witnessed 32 leading and emerging performers play at the most pivotal moment in music history.

THE GRATEFUL DEAD ARE SO IN VOGUE! Speaking of Woodstock, The Grateful Dead were one of ‘those’ bands to have graced that stage back in ’69 and now our favourite psychedelic jam rockers have recently graced the pages of Vogue! Embracing the ongoing trend of tie-dyed vintage tees with the band’s iconic skull symbol, it’s hard to escape its influence. BVND OF THE WEEK: PVRIS

We’d like to give this week’s Band of the Week to American rockers, PVRIS. Front woman Lynn Gunn has been in the headlines recently when she opened up about her mental health battles giving hope to others like her. Their new album entitled ‘All We Know of Heaven, All we need of Hell.’ is due out on 4th August. Lynn said: “I don’t want to give away too much, but I believe it is much broader and opened up in all aspects – sonically, lyrically, and visually’. The band will be touring Europe and the UK in November this year.

FEELING SUMMER SONIC? Japan is where it’s at! Founded in 2000, Japan’s beloved Summer Sonic festival has really given alternative music an alternative venue! This three-day rock festival is held at the same time in Osaka and Chiba. The majority of the bands playing in Osaka the first day go to Chiba the following day and vice versa. The line-up contains many Japanese rock musicians from both major and indie record companies, and also international acts. This year’s headlining acts include Foo Fighters, All Time Low, Sum 41, Kesha & Calvin Harris.

MUSIC NEWS: WIZ TAKES OVER PSY FOR MOST WATCHED VIDEO! Someone had to do it, someone exceptional, someone original. Our very own Wiz Khalifa made headlines this week when his latest music video ‘See You Again’, featuring Charlie Puth has now been viewed 2,895,373,709 times and counting. That bests Psy's current video count of 2,894,426,475 views! “See You Again" was featured in The Fast and Furious 7. The film was the first to be released following the death of actor Paul Walker, who died in a car accident before the movie was completed. The song is played during the closing credits of the film in tribute to the late actor and the heartfelt music video features Puth playing a piano beside a picturesque landscape and closes with the final scene of the film. Wiz has just started a tour covering US, Hungary, Switzerland, Austria & Poland.
