Welcome back to school everyone! With the start of a new

school year comes new opportunities to serve our community

through Key Club. With events such as Fall Rally, Halloween

at the High, Coffee House, and DCON to name a few, there’s

a lot to look forward to! Just a note, my other newsletters

aren’t this wordy, this is just so everyone can get to know us

officers. So without further ado, here’s an introduction from

all nine of them, enjoy!

Your Editor,

Samuel Wu

Hey Key Clubbers, Welcome back to school! I hope your

first few weeks went well and you’re not too stressed yet. I

want to thank everyone who came to the Street Fair on Sep-

tember 28th. The kids loved it and Kiwanis also thought we

did a great job! For all of you new members, you will not re-

gret joining Key Club. Hopefully, you will begin to see how

awesome Key Club is at our first event, Halloween at the

High! I encourage all of you to join a committee because

Halloween at the High is one of the best events of the year

(that will hopefully not be canceled due to weather issues).

Anyone know an anti-natural disaster dance? I am ecstatic to

be your President and I promise to do everything I can to

make our year great and successful! I wish you all a great

school year full of success, fun, and most importantly, ser-

vice!

Yours truly,

Jasmine Jean

2013-2014 President

Page 4: Issue 3 September 2013

Hi, I’m Jasmine! I am currently a senior and your president.

Joining Key Club was one of the best decisions I made during

high school. Before high school, I was timid and quiet, but I can

honestly say that Key Club has turned that around. I will carry

all of the lessons I learned through Key Club for the rest of my life. Unlike a lot

of clubs in our school, Key Club is bigger than just a group of kids in Parsippany

High School; this club expands across New Jersey, our country, and the whole

world. I was able to meet a bunch of people that had the same passion for Key

Club as I do. We all have the opportunity to change the world and help less fortu-

nate kids across the country just by being in Key Club. And those are just a few

reasons of why I love Key Club. On the other hand, I love sarcasm, TV show

marathons, books, Disney World, music, and food.

Hi everyone! My name is Toobah and I am one of your VP's.

Although Key Club is a student-run club, you can truly make a

difference in someone's life whether you know it or not. I think

that is one of the greatest accomplishments that you can

achieve with Key Club as a high school student. Furthermore, Key Club offers

many opportunities to meet new people and make many memories that will last

forever while helping others and the community. I look forward to working with

you all during this year's service year! Some things about me: I am a diehard One

Direction and Jonas Brothers fan, I love meeting new people (so don't be afraid to

talk to me!), and I enjoy reading and baking.

Vice President - Toobah Wali

Hi guys! I'm Lizzie, and I'm currently a junior. I have the pleasure

of being your recording secretary! Key Club is a great environment

to create lasting friendships, experience new things, and practice

leadership roles, all while giving back to the community. I encour-

age you to be actively involved in Key Club not because you'll earn

hours, but because you'll make others happy. On a separate note, I

like traveling and eating. Feel free to contact me with any concerns

about your hours or attendance!

Hi, I’m Raphael! I’m a senior and your corresponding sec-

retary. Key Club is amazing because it’s a great way to

make friends while making a positive impact on the com-

munity. On a side note, I love strawberries. Thanks for

joining Key Club and I hope you enjoy this service year!

My name is Amar Kakirde, and I'm one of your two Key

Club Vice Presidents. In my free time, I enjoy learning

about history and reading. But, less about me, and more

about Key Club. In high school, there are very few things

that you can do that will actually have some sort of impact

on the world. Key Club is one of those things. From fund-

raising to help a fellow student beat cancer, to working to

end tetanus in Africa, Key Club helps. And the best part is, so can you.

Vice President - Amar Kakirde

Recording Secretary - Elizabeth Tu

Corresponding Secretary - Raphael Sevilla

Treasurer - Prachi Gupta

Hey guys I’m Prachi, a senior and your current Treasurer for

Key Club. If you are currently reading this then congratula-

tions! You’ve just joined the best club in the entire school. It

is a place where you can create new memories while doing

good for the community. There are so many diverse activities,

such as Fall Rally, Baldwin Oaks, and DCON, which are just

a few of my favorite. The club makes volunteering fun, excit-

ing, and cool! I definitely don’t regret my past 3 years here and I

know you won’t either! Oh, and by the way I am also in the

Marching Band, enjoy listening to music, and love Taco Bell.

Webmaster - Spencer Chen

Hi, I’m Spencer! I’m a senior this year and I’ll be your Web-

master this year. Although this title may seem intimidating

and even tyrannical, it merely means that I’ll be in charge of

running the Key Club website, which is totally awesome and

should be every Key Clubber’s homepage. To me, Key club is

full of awesomeness; it is an awesome community filled with

even awesomer people who do the awesomest things. The

many different forms of volunteering we do are quite diverse.

From entertaining children during Halloween to making din-

ner for senior citizens at Baldwin Oaks, this club gives back to

a wide variety of people and truly makes it one of the great-

est. On a side note, I’m a total nerd because I’m in the march-

ing band, I enjoy physics class, and I’m part of a club that

studies 700 pages of material every year for fun.

Aloha Keyclubbers, I’m Rianna. I’m a senior and your Historian!

A random fact about me is that iIm obsessed with fashion and

art. Key club is such a fantastic opportunity for kids like us to

get active in our community. What I find the most interesting

about key club is how fun it can be! Whether we are helping out

with the games at Halloween at the High or taking part in fun

activities at Relay for Life, everyone is having a great time! Every step

of the way Key club helps create many friendships through small group

projects or helping out in a committee. I specifically love how key club

does not feel like tedious service work but a fun and enjoyable oppor-

tunity to lend a hand to problems in our world that need it the most. I

love key club and all the opportunities it gives us, and I'm sure you will

too!

Editor - Samuel Wu

Historian - Rianna Gran

Hi everyone,! I’m Sam and I’ll be your editor for this year.

Speaking from personal experience, Key Club is truly the best

club you can ever be a part of. Everyone in our club has

made a difference in our society and have made memories

that will last a lifetime here. Not only do we have a blast at

events like Fall Rally, Halloween at the High, Coffee House,

and DCON, we also get to help people in our local commu-

nity as well as our international community. From visiting senior

homes to raising money to eliminate Maternal/Neonatal Tetanus

around the world, Key Club gives us the opportunity to help

people. You’ve made the best decision of high school by joining

this club! Now a little about me. Aside from Key Club, I love lis-

tening to music, Supernatural, and food. I mean who doesn't love

food?
