If you answered yes to any of these questions, then please do read on to find out more about

how NLP can benefit you and your business.

What is NLP – NLP stands for Neuro Linguistic Programming and was formed from the study

of excellence, studying how humans create excellence, how to achieve excellence and how

to achieve excellence consistently! We all know that we have the ability to achieve goals as

some times we achieve them and some times we don’t. NLP is the difference that makes the

difference in knowing how to achieve your goals consistently. NLP enables us to understand

the workings of the human mind and how all of our minds work uniquely, the language

people use, how they behave, so we can use this to build better relationships within business

and with customers, creating value at every stage of their relationship with you.

You can understand peoples strategies, how they make decisions, how they are reassured

they have the right service and product, satisfying their values when they buy from you. NLP

also teaches you how to use language in your presentations, your brochures and on your

websites too, using language in a powerful way to communicate and really get your message

across in a unique and dynamic way

If you would like to learn how to present your message in a way that captivates your

audience, how to excel within your business, meet your sales targets, build rapport easily

with your customers and clients, building long lasting fulfilled relationships and really

drawing on the uniqueness of what your business is offering to make you “stand out from the

crowd” then NLP is the way to enable you to achieve this.

If you’ve ever persuaded your mates to go for a curry rather

than a Chinese, or convinced your boss that you need next

Tuesday off, then you, my friend, have been selling.

All of us have to sell. Whether you’re a lawyer, an

accountant, or an entrepreneur, selling is a big part of what

you do. So why do so many of us love to hate it?

This book doesn’t promise to make you love selling - just to

make you great at it. It does that by breaking the sales

process down into a few simple steps you can repeat time

and again: from targeting and networking, to persuading and asking.

This book is available to loan from Businesslines business library, free of charge, for all

members of Wrexham Library service.

HMRC has announced that from 6 October 2014, companies with 50 or more employees will face penalty charges for late filing of payroll reports through (RTI).

HMRC has however postponed the implementation for smaller businesses. Late charges will now not be imposed on firms with 49 employees or fewer until March 2015.

Complying with the Telephone Preference Service:Complying with the Telephone Preference Service:Complying with the Telephone Preference Service:Complying with the Telephone Preference Service:

The Telephone Preference Services are opt-out registers through which individuals and organisations can choose not to receive unsolicited sales and marketing calls and faxes. It is unlawful for any business, including charities and voluntary organisations, to make unsolicited marketing calls or send unsolicited faxes to numbers on the service registers.

What must a business involved in direct marketing do to comply? Any business that makes direct marketing calls or sends direct marketing faxes must screen their call lists against the Telephone Preference Service registers to ensure that they do not contact registered numbers. Both prospect lists and in-house customer lists should be screened. An exception exists where customers have previously indicated that they do not object to receiving direct marketing calls or faxes from the business.

The TPS register contains residential numbers as well as some numbers of sole traders and business partnerships. The CTPS register contains business numbers only. Therefore if your business makes direct marketing calls solely to individuals you need only screen your call lists against the TPS register. However, if you make direct marketing calls to other businesses you must screen numbers against both registers.

As the registers are updated daily, screening must be carried out at least every 28 days to ensure that new additions to the register are taken into account.

How can a business involved in direct marketing access the registers?

There are three ways that businesses can screen their call lists against the Telephone Preference Service registers:

1) Apply for a licence to access the data directly. 2) Use a low volume call screening service. 3) Contract a third party list cleanser.

Alternatively Businessline can provide telesales lists which exclude businesses listed on the Telephone Preference Service, please see the following link for further information: http://bit.ly/marketing_lists

How are the requirements enforced and what are the penalties for non-compliance?

The Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) is responsible for enforcing the regulations regarding the telephone preference services. Where a registered individual or organisation receives an unsolicited sales or marketing call or fax, in the first instance they can make a complaint to the TPS, CTPS or FPS. The respective organisation will record the complaint and include it in a report, which is then sent to the ICO. However, the telephone preference services are not able to take enforcement action themselves.

In some cases, formal enforcement notices are served against more serious offenders. In very serious cases of non-compliance, offenders may be prosecuted, with the maximum penalty being a fine of £5,000. However, prosecutions related to the telephone preference services are extremely rare.
