3/4 Ballarat Science Camp Earth Ed Students had a very exciting day, where they got to explore different types of rocks and soils. They further built their understanding of how rocks are formed and the features of different types of rocks. Students got the opportunity to look closely at different types of rocks under a microscope, explore which rocks glowed in the dark, floated or were magnetic. They tested the density of different rock types, and used soil from their gardens at home to inquire into the types of soil found in the Seaford and surrounding areas.

Students got the opportunity to explore the Ecolinc wetlands/grasslands and identify a range of bush food plants, discover and identify parts of bush food plants that were used by Indigenous people, propagate bush food seeds/cuttings in the glasshouse and use parts of bush food plants as materials for tools and weaving.

Welcome Stranger Caravan Park Students got to participate in a range of activities once we got to the camp site, including minigolf, circus skills and a jumping pillow.
