CURRICULUM DAY PROGRAM - WED 27 JUNE Enrolments for the Curriculum Day Care program on Wednesday, June 27 are now closed. We can accept bookings for the in-centre program, however bookings will incur a $10 late booking fee. Those who chose the lunch option will receive fish and chips for lunch. If you havent selected lunch and would like to, please email OSHC and we will include your child in the numbers. PARC Excursion We will inform those on the waiting list as soon as possible if a place becomes available. If you would like your childs name added to the wait list, please email OSHC. Please note - some age and height restrictions apply. See the PARC website for information. Important information for PARC Excursion Children must arrive at OSHC by no later than 9am for a 9.15am sharp departure. It will not be possible to wait for late arrivals. We will return to OSHC by 2.30pm Please ensure your PARC student information form is returned by no later than Tuesday Children should wear their bathers under their clothes and bring a water bottle, underwear, a towel and a plastic bag for wet items in a small back pack. Goggles are optional and must be named Bags will be leſt in the change room unattended so valuables should not be brought on the day Children will have the choice of either a hot dog or nuggets & chips for lunch. An email was sent out today; please respond no later than Tuesday morning with your child/rens preference. JULY HOLIDAY PROGRAM Applications for the July holiday program close Monday, June 25. The excursion to Village Cinemas is now full — please email OSHC if you would like to be added to the waiting list. Please be aware that there have been warnings about certain scenes where bright, flashing strobe lights have caused epileptic seizures in people with photosensitive epilepsy. More information can be found here. There are also incursions planned; Ultimate Games, Animals of Oz and of course Party Day. Click here to apply via the Parent Portal. Subway forms can be collected from next to the sign-in area. These need to be returned no later than Tuesday, July 3 at 4pm. Remember that applications made aſter 25 June will incur a late fee of $10 for each day booked. CONGRATULATIONS MICHELLE We offer our sincere congratulations to Michelle who, aſter completing her teaching degree, has been offered a teaching position at a local Primary School from next term. Michelle has a long history with Berwick Primary School having performed many varied roles in administration, OSHC and education support. We thank her for her contribution to the OSHC program and wish her all the best as she starts this wonderful new adventure. SAVOURY MINCE RECIPE We have had many parents asking about our aſternoon tea on Tuesday, which was Heathers savoury mince. You will find the recipe on page 3. BODY SAFETY PROGRAM OSHC staff will attend the Body Safety staff workshop next Tuesday morning. We believe it is important the OSHC staff are equipped with all the information available to best support the students in our care. END OF TERM 2 The last day of term two is Friday, June 29. Aſter School Care will commence at 2.30pm to coincide with the early finish.   • INGREDIENTS

    1 pkt chicken noodle soup

    3 cups water

    1 cup stock

    1 medium carrot

    1 zucchini

    1 handful spinach

    600g fat-free mince (beef, chicken or turkey)

    1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

    1 tablespoon organic tomato paste

    1 tin red kidney beans

    1 tin chickpeas

    parsley (chopped)

    1 cup frozen peas

    1 tablespoon cornflour mixed with 1/4 cup water

    METHOD

    Step 1. Place water and stock into a pot with the

    chicken noodle soup m ix and bring to a boil.

    Simmer for about 8 minutes.

    Step 2. Peel carrots and zucchini and chop with

    spinach in food processor until small (not

    crushed or grated)

    Step 3. Add mince to soup and bring back to a simmer.

    Cook until mince is brown (approx. 5 minutes)

    Step 3. Add Worcestershire sauce, tomato paste and

    vegetables and cook for a further 5 minutes.

    Add kidney beans, chickpeas, peas and parsley

    and cook for an extra 2-3 minutes. Cornflour

    mix can be added to thicken if desired. Stir

    until boiling.

    Served with couscous and natural corn chips

    This delicious recipe has been requested from lots of our parents. It’s super easy and incredibly delicious. Just ask the kids!
