AN T I V Jis a Visual Label

We admire AntiVJ’s work. They do things differently, outside mainstream circuits. Their work sits between many different disciplines from architecture to futuristic design, coding and visual art, always presenting technically challenging projects that immerse the audience in a unique experience. There is a strong link between AntiVJ’s ethos and our core values of ‘Innovation, Creativity and Forward Thinking’. They know how to push the boundaries and produce astonishing pieces of work.

Carmen Salas & Estela Olivafounders at Alpha-ville

presents:

I recently attended one of Alpha-ville’s live shows at the Hackney Empire in London to see a performance by AntiVJ’s Simon Geilfus and the Mexican electronic musician Murcof. Sitting very close to the stage I experienced the full effect of the mind blowing performance, which can only be described as an amazing audio and visual experience.

As the co-founder and producer of the innovative visual label AntiVJ, Nicolas Boritch’s creative ideas and love of audio/visual arts have helped establish and drive this exciting brand. Consisting of a select group of European artist’s AntiVJ is focused on the use of projected light and its influence on our perception. Although the name may suggest, AntiVJ is not opposed to VJing per se, however they want to expand the art form further than VJing in the confines of a club. From projections on structures, transparent material and in 3D, to large scale projects like architectural mapping (where they create projections on or inside buildings), the AntiVJ artists always stick to their ethos by avoiding the obvious and continuing to push the envelope which ultimately gives them the freedom that all artists thrive on.

CITYSCAPE 2095, an

installation by Yannick

Jacquet, Mandril, Thomas

Vaquié

Going to the top of a

skyscraper and contemplating the strange beauty of urban landscapes

is always an impressive

experience. It tends to bring up existential questions and create strong

emotions which can be

contradictory, such as: feeling

lost in admiration for human genius,

being scared of the way sprawling

cities grow, marvelling at

that sea of lights, the feeling that

humans are like ants and the city a

living creature.

with soft chalky colours, Tara McPherson’s artwork is an enigma of aesthetic human emotion, where sagacious yet susceptible subjects exist in a kind of pastel parallel universe. McPherson’s inimitable creations range from sculptures, giclées, rock posters, serigraphs, silkscreens, clothing, books, toys, to home ware. Her work has been exhibited all over the planet, steered the helm of global advertising campaigns, and is hugely popular with rock bands in the city looking for sweetly eccentric poster designs.
