danced, had camp fires, hiked,
shot guns, went paintballing,
and had leadership sessions.
We met so many people from
different FFA chapters in Ohio.
We left on Monday morning
and we returned on Friday. Mr.
Sammetinger was late in picking

Ohio legislative leadership Conference
On Wednesday, September 26th, the Riverside FFA Officer Team attended
the 1st annual Ohio FFA Legislative Leadership Conference (OLLC) held at the Ohio
State House in Columbus. The conference began with a presentation by a lobbyist
for the Ohio Farm Bureau about how FFA members can influence their elected
officials on agricultural issues. Following that we participated in a political simula-
tion put on by the Vice-President of the Farm Bureau. We had the opportunity to
toured the State House. We saw many sights including the House of Representa-
tives Chamber, the Senate Chamber, the Governor’s Office, and the Map Room.
After the tour we were welcomed and listened to a speech by Governor John
Kasich spoke to the FFA members about why he values agricultural education and
FFA. Next, ate lunch with many of our elected officials and listened to remarks by
the Ohio FFA Officer Team. The 1st annual OLLC was a huge success and the offic-
ers had a great time.

tables and will be moving on to ag marketing.
