YMCA: Bridging Realities of HOPE

Just recently, many parts of the country were

devastated by Super Typhoon Yolanda. It puts more lives

in the valley of death. More families were brought to

strange streets due to the storm surge. Children who are

supposed to enjoy the beauty of life had traumatic

experiences. More livelihood were lost. Many did not

even know where and how to start a living.

Everyday we wake up with news from the television,

radio, newspapers, and other social networking sites

telling us how unfortunate some of our fellowmen are

specially those in the Visayas regions who were overtaken

by the said typhoon.

However, amidst this devastation, comes a new light

of hope – a calling for unity among the Filipinos. A

calling from YMCA to bring education, wellness,

entrepreneurship and interfaith in partnership with

stakeholders nearer to the hearts of every Filipino.

Thus, the gathering of 263 participants from 42 State

Universities and Colleges all over the country in the 38th

YMCA National Congress of College students and 18th

YMCA National Campus Club Advisers Seminar

Workshop in Teachers Camp, Baguio City on December

4-8, 2013 is a manifestation that there are still people in

this country who are willing to share and contribute in

shaping the minds and bringing Home, Order and Peace

in the Environment at large.

Y’ers 2013! Let’s join hands in bridging realities of

HOPE. #Jasmin T. Gadian (GSC)
