When approaching the Isopure energy drink, knew immediately that I didn’t want to
advertise the drink in a way that is common with many whey protien powders and
energy drinks. Rather than emphasizing bulked up and toned bodies, I wanted to use
a more sophistcated approach to match the designer feel of the Isopure bottles.
Originally I wated to take a more illustrative approach, using color and angular
qualities to target my young adult male audience.

I experimented at first with a more graphic illustrative style. They weren’t
as strong as intended, so I decided to move away from this concept and
try something else.

With these concepts, I chose to put more emphasis on the product and
bold typography and graphics. The simple nature of the ads created a
more sophisticated look that I decided worked well with the brand.

In order to focus on young adult males, I decided to introduce
photography into a couple of my ads. Keeping the photos black
and white kept the sophistication I was looking for and nicely
accented the color of the drink.

This ad focuses on the “Stay Ahead” slogan and uses angular
qualities to introduce visual motion and a dynamic feel.
This ad empasizes the 40 grams of protien in each bottle, while
also mirroring the circular branding found on the Isopure website.

Here I refined the typography to make it more angular and
dynamic while also mirroring the headline box.
