Research Topic:
My PhD research involves the experiment-based validation and uncertainty quantification of numerical
models for complex and coupled systems. Multi-physics, multi-scale models with different physical
phenomena are encountered in wide range of scientific and engineering applications. Modeling of these
complex engineering systems usually requires simultaneous simulation of several subsystems. Coupling
these models can help us to investigate the global system and obtain results that closer simulate reality.
The coupled problem is solved using a procedure in which each separate solver employed to evaluate
each partition and data is exchanged among solvers during iterations. My research focuses on the solving
coupling problem via optimization techniques and implementation these coupling techniques in structural
engineering considering uncertainty of the parameters.
