From your Pastor…

In the gospel today we see that the Pharisees are trying to put Jesus on the spot when they say weather it is lawful to pay taxes. To this question Jesus answers, “Then pay to Caesar what belongs to Caesar and to God what belongs to God.” at all costs, the Pharisees wanted to create division and undetermined the ministry of Jesus. We see a similar issue today when someone try's to create division between society and God. There are efforts to remove the phrase “one nation under God” for the pledge of allegiance & “ In God we Trust” from out currency. All to often we allow thing like sports, recreation and entertainment to crowd out our relationship with him.

In the Gospel Jesus talks about the image of Caesar that is imprinted on a coin. The image of Caesar means the money belongs to him. In a similar way, the image of God is suppose to be imprinted in our life's because we belong to him. We are certainly called to be faithful citizens, but more importantly, faithful followers of the Lord in all aspects of our life.

Let us pray for our Country and the strength to render under God what belongs to him. May his divine image be clearly seen by what we say and do.

Sincerely

Fr. Miguel Gonzalez

Sinceramente,

Rev. Miguel González
