nternational children's day is celebrated

on the 1st of June each year.

But Children's Day is celebrated on

various days in many places around the

world, in particular to honour children.

International Children's Day flag:

•The GREEN background symbolizes growth, harmony, and freshness.

•The RED & YELLOW, BLACK & WHITE figures represent diversity and tolerance

•The STAR, which is made up of the figures’ legs, represents light. The five points on the star represent the continents.

•The EARTH figure, which is directly in the center, represents our earthly home and all the blessings on it.

•The BLUE symbolizes trust, loyalty, wisdom, confidence, intelligence, faith, truth, and heaven.

World Environment Day is celebrated every year on 5 June in more than 100 countries. World Environment Day (WED) was established by the United Nations General Assembly in 1972.WED is hosted every year by a different city and commemorated with an international exposition through the week of June 5.

ulse Polio is an immunisation campaign

established by the government of India in

1995-96 to eradicate poliomyelitis (polio)

in India by vaccinating all children under

the age of five years against polio virus.

•THE AMERICAS WERE CERTIFIED POLIO-FREE IN 1994. (36 COUNTRIES) • THE WESTERN PACIFIC WAS CERTIFIED POLIO-FREE IN 2000. (37 COUNTRIES AND AREAS INCLUDING CHINA) •EUROPE, COMPOSED OF 51 COUNTRIES, WAS CERTIFIED POLIO-FREE IN JUNE 2002. (51 COUNTRIES) • WITH ONLY SIX POLIO ENDEMIC COUNTRIES LEFT IN THE WORLD, POLIO TRANSMISSION COULD BE STOPPED BY END 2005.  THE WORLD COULD THEN BE CERTIFIED POLIO-FREE BY END-2008.
