PART II CABLE TYPE 75-7-2
0. FOREWORD
0.1 This Indian Standard ( Part II ) was adopted by the Indian Standards Institution on 27 October 1975, after the draft finalized by the Cables, Wires and Waveguides for Telecommunication Equipment Sectional Committee had been approved by the Electrotechnical Division Council.
0.2 This standard deals with flexible coaxial RF cable with solid polyethy- lene dielectric and having a characteristic impedance of 75 Q.
0.3 Assistance has *been derived from BS 23 16 : Part 3 : 1969 ‘Specification .for radio-frequency cables : Part 3 Cable data sheets ’ issued by the British Standards Institution.
0.3.1 The nearest IEC equivalent of this cable is 96 IEC 75-7-4 listed in IEC Publication 96-2 ( 1961 ) ‘ Radio-frequency cables : Part 2 Relevant cable specifications ’ issued by International Electrotechnical Commission.
0.4 The diameters for the plain high conductivity annealed copper wire for inner and outer conductors have been chosen from IS : 2982-1965* as the wires’require to be processed further.
0.5 This standard shall be used in conjunction with IS : 5026-1969t.
0.6 For the purpose of deciding whether a particular requirement of this standard is complied with, the final value, observed or calculated, expressing the result of a test, shall be rounded off in accordance with IS : 2-1960$. The number of significant places retained in the rounded off value should be the same as that of the specified value in this standard.
1. SCOPE 1.1 This standard ( Part II ) specifies the dimensions, constructional details and the requirements for the RF flexible coaxial cables having type designation 75-7-2.
.- *Specification for copper conductors in insulated cables and cords. General requirements and tests for radio frequency cables. $Rules fOF rounding off numerical values ( rcvis6d).

IS : 5802 ( Part II ) - 1975
2. TYPE DESIGNATION
2.1 The cables covered by this standard are designated as 75-Y-2 in accor- dance with the type designation given in 5.1 of’ IS : 5026-1969*.
3. CONSTRUCTION AND DIMENSIONS
3.1 The cable shall consist of a single solid, inner conductor of plain annea- led and high conductivity electrolytic copper, the .dielectric consisting of solid polyethylene extruded over the conductor. Over the dielectric, a single braid of plain annealed copper wire shall be applied and the cable shall be finished overall with ordinary sheath of suitably compounded PVC, black in colour ( see Fig. 1 ).
