CLUSTER

Sustainable Clean

Energy

The objective of Sustainable Clean Energy track is to sustain provision of sustainable clean energy development that meets the needs of

the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs. This track focusing on the reduction of energy and

water consumption and the use of environmentally friendly energy sources. The program under the track includes, Renewable energy,

Energy conservation, Sustainable transport and Sustainability as well as those are a prerequisite for finding intelligent and pragmatic

solutions for a sustainable clean energy future.

Power and Energy

Services

Convergence

The aim of this Power and Energy Service Convergence track is to provide a platform for engineers, academia and researchers to

disseminate, discuss and exchange of innovative ideas, leading edge concepts, new technologies and devices, ongoing R&D efforts,

prototype and demonstration projects, and visions of the future related to the theme.

Energy Social

Sustainability

The Energy and Social Sustainability Cluster track aims to highlight research in capacity building in energy, green economy, policy, and

social transformation towards sustainable communities. In line with the New Economy Model (NEM), this track reports the social,

environmental and economic (SEE) impact of renewable energy, energy sector and its regulatory framework, development of energy

reporting/audit guidelines. It also focuses on energy security, energy policy related to energy production, distribution, consumption and

energy economics on energy demand, energy efficiency and potential savings. In addition, the track illustrates economic and business

structural changes related to energy and environmental impact due to the energy production, energy conversion and energy consumption

and other fugitive use of energy resources towards sustainability.

Energy

Infrastructure

The transition from a traditional economy to a modern high-technology urban-based economy often stimulates profit-seeking

development, with a time-lag before provision of infrastructure and methods of coping with hazards are seen as necessary and viable. The

recent natural disaster events such as floods and landslides have introduced the potential geohazard threat to the energy infrastructure.

Therefore, Energy Infrastructure track aims to provide a platform for researchers and all sectors of society to discuss their latest research

findings and development in addressing the engineering challenges to ensure environmentally sound, hazard and risk free power

generation and delivery. The combination of environment friendly and free hazard risk leads to advanced knowledge and technologies that

enables engineers/researchers design and build advanced systems to reduce the vulnerability of the people and areas most at risk from

natural hazards

Information and

Communication

Technology

(ICT)c

The Information and Communication Technology (ICT) track aims to provide an avenue for researchers to present their latest research

findings and development related to the use of ICT in the energy sector, especially to those related to renewable energy. Given that many

power companies are moving towards smart grid, ICT has become a necessity in the energy industry. However, there are still many issues

and problems related to applications, protocols, interoperability and security that are yet to be resolved for the potential of smart grid to be

fully realized. Furthermore, the use of computer science techniques and algorithms may also open a way for a more efficient operation that

can provide a cleaner energy for the society.
