IRM®-1 -Rainmanager RMS
• Electronic fully automatic controls• Maintenance-free corrosion proof four-stage self-
priming membrane pump• Built-in pressure controls• Integrated ‚internal supplementation‘ in accordance
with EN1717• Automatic water replacement• Motor-controlled valve for automatic switch to
drinking water• 18-litre maintenance-free pressure vessel• Provided with sound-insulating foam cover• Belgaqua and KIWA certificates
• Extremely energy efficient only 98 watts
• Very compact housing• Easy and quick to connect• Connections on one side • Suitable for bottom assembly• Includes complete connection set
with 8-litre pressure vessel
PrincipleThe IRM®-1 Rainmanager RMS works on the basis of IRM technology and is the intelligent brain of the rainwater system. The IRM®-controls monitor and control the entire rainwater system and guarantee continuous high reliability.
IRM®-1 Rainmanager RMS functions in accordance with the duplex principle, for which the integrated Rainmanager pump can be supplied with (rain)water from the rainwater tank or (drinking) water via the internal break tank of the Rainmanager depending on the tank’s water level.
Thanks to these two independent water flows, it is possible to keep the rainwater system in commission in case of an empty tank or for maintenance works in the large tank. This means that the system will be provided with water under all circumstances and at all tap points.
After a signal from the sensor or the manual switch, the IRM®-1 Rainmanager RMS automatically switches to drinking water. In this case, water is drawn from the
internal break tank. As such, just as much drinking water is supplemented as is actually used.
The principle of the IRM® philosophy truly is done justice. Guaranteed operation with optimum saving. Moreover, drinking water will never enter the large tank.
In accordance with EN1717, the IRM®-1 Rainmanager RMS is equipped with internal supplementation and can be placed above ground level without any problems. Installation below ground level is possible if the overflow is linked to a pump well with submersible pump that subsequently drains the water or if it is combined with a GEP water trap. The break tank of the IRM®-1 Rainmanager RMS is automatically refreshed so that still water is prevented.

The pump of the IRM®-1 Rainmanager RMS is a special membrane pump; a four-chambered diaphragm pump that works according to the positive displacement principle. This principle through the four chambers provides a very energy-efficient effect. The pump controls switch on the pump as soon as there is a water demand. The connection set provides a pressure vessel, shut-off valves and flexible connections. Moreover, the pump operates at low voltage (24V). The combination of low voltage and energy efficiency ensures extremely low energy consumption. The IRM®-1 Rainmanager RMS’ control panel has the following features: On/Off switch, Drinking water/automated pump switch, LED indicators for automated pump, drinking water use, manual drinking water, pump on. The software in the IRM®-1 Rainmanager RMS has the following features: automatic water renewal for break tank, optional emergency overflow, reverse flow alarm and automatic dry running protection of the pump.

The rainwater har-vesting system operates with the IRM technology and forms the intelligent brain of the rainwater harvesting system. The IRM control system monitors and controls the rainwater harvesting system and ensures a high operational reliability. The integra-ted pump of the IRM Watermanager can use (rain)water from the rainwater tank or (tap)water via the internal reservoir of the IRM Watermanager, this depends on the water level inside of the rainwater tank. Thanks to the IRM technology, it is possi-ble to retain two independent water flows (when the tank is empty or when there is maintenance required in the big rain-water tank). The IRM Watermanager automatically switches to tap water when the sensor or floater gives a signal, or when the system is manually switched. The IRM Watermanager now uses water from the internal water reservoir. This internal water reservoir is filled up with the amount which is actually required. This refill is done with a proportional valve to ensure a silent and calm water flow. This internal reservoir is build up from two compartments to reduce the sound of flowing water. The IRM Watermanager also contains a self-control function for the tap water floater with an auto correctional mode. The IRM Water-
manager tries to self-control, when there is a leakage in the valve. If this is futile, the IRM Watermanager will emit a visual and acoustic alarm. It is also possible to connect an additional valve in the tap water supply to allow the repair of the leaking pipe. The IRM control also automatically refreshes the water in the breaktank compartment. When the control system detects that the system is running on rainwater for a period of time, it will automatically flush the tap water pipes to prevent stagna-tion. The IRM control also makes sure that the rainwater filter is periodically cleaned, this is done by a strong pulsating water jet. This ensures the quality and durability of the rainwater filter. The duration and time interval of this water jet is adjustable on the IRM control system. The IRM Watermanager can also be connected to a back flow sensor which is placed in the rainwa-ter tank. The system automatically switches to (safe) tap water when back flow from the sewerage system occurs, the IRM con-trol also emits a visual and acoustic alarm. This prevents that tainted water comes into the pump, pipes, toilet floaters and taps. This switch is powered by a motor controlled ball valve. This ball valve can also be manually switched in order to ensure operational reliability.

The IRM® System Control TEA works on the basis of IRM technology and is the intelligent brain of the rainwater system. The IRM®-controls check, monitor and control the entire rainwater system and guarantee continuous high reliability.
The IRM® System Control TEA functions according to the duplex, implex or suplex principles for which the pump can be supplied with (rain)water from the rainwater tank or (drinking) water via the IRM® System Control TEA depending on the tank’s water level.
Thanks to these two independent water flows, it is possible to keep the rainwater system in commission in case of an empty tank or for maintenance works in the large tank. This means that the system will be provided with water under all circumstances and at all tap points.
After a signal from the sensor or the manual switch, the IRM® System Control TEA automatically switches to drinking water. In this case, water is drawn from the internal break tank. As such, just as much drinking water is supplemented as is actually
used. The status can be read from the control panel of the IRM® controls. Moreover, the IRM® Control TEA also has a self-inspection function of the float valve. Possible faults are subsequently indicated optically and acoustically on the control panel.
The IRM® System Control TEA is equipped with internal supplementation and can be placed above ground level without any problems. Installation below ground level is possible if the overflow is linked to a pump well with submersible pump that subsequently drains the water.

The DBS system stands for Drinking water Bijvul Systeem (Drinking Water Replenishing System) with a submersible pressure pump. The multi-stage, water-cooled submersible pump distributes the water from the rainwater tank to the points of consumption via the controls. The pressure controls switch the pump on and off depending on flow and pressure. In case of a drop in pressure, the pump will automatically switch back on. As soon as the pressure is back to maximum, the pump will switch off again. Moreover, the pressure controls comprise of dry running protection that protects the pump against running dry. The actual operating pressure can be viewed on a manometer. In accordance with EN1717, the controls automatically fill the rainwater tank with drinking water as soon as it runs empty. The controls comprise of the following components: a float for level protection, a magnetic valve that opens the water mains if the float indicates a low level and a funnel that needs to be connected to the replenishment main to the rainwater well. Everything is pre-assembled on a handy wall console.

The GEP Water Seal is a smart leak detection and water control system for use in homes. If the sensor contacts water, you will hear a loud buzzer. At the same time, the water supply will be switched off automatically. The GEP water seal comprises of a metal ball valve with motor drive. This is connected to the detector unit through a supple connection cord. The unit works on one standard 9 Volt battery and, as such, operates independently from the power grid. The GEP Water Seal can be used for rainwater systems that can be assembled below the sewerage level. (In the basement, for example) Naturally, it can also be used to protect rooms and equipment other than rainwater systems against water damage.

The GEP Water Seals 3/4” and 1” are suitable for the protection of water mains with a diameter larger than 15 mm, such as, for example, the GEP Rainmanagers RM5, B-Class and C-Class. The GEP Water Seal is a complete set comprising of controls, a separate water sensor with 2 metres of cable, a magnetic valve and gaskets. An acoustic alarm will sound from the controls in case the sensor detects water. Moreover, the water mains will be sealed by the magnetic valve. Furthermore, there is the option of running the voltage supply of the equipment to be protected through the water seal. In case of an alarm, it will be automatically disengaged along with the acoustic alarm.

To be placed near (preferably below) the rainwater system to be protected. The seal must be placed in the supply mains. Subsequently place the detector on the floor or in the mounting piece. Plug in the connection cord of the seal and the protection is ready. After hearing an alarm, press the reset button until you hear a beeping sound. You then hear a little motor that returns the valve in the open state. Apart from sealing the water mains, the water seals 3/4” and 1” have an additional function. These types also provide protection for electrical equipment. For instance, the rain manager on which the water seal is connected can be protected. In case of water detection, the voltage supply to the equipment in question is also disconnected; this does not only disconnect the water, but also the electricity.

Fine Filter Carbon Filter Set TRIO
Collected filtered rainwater is suitable for flushing the toilet, for use in the washing machine and in the garden. For more high-quality applications, it is sometimes wise to install an additional fine filter. The GEP Trio filter set is a filter that ensures that the collected rainwater achieves a high, sound quality level. Thanks to the self-cleaning/back-flushing of the pre-filter, particles up to 90 micrometer are collected in the first element and flushed away (automatically). The second element collects particles up to 25 micrometer and the last element collects particles up to a size of 10 micrometer. The final filter element also contains carbon (activated carbon), which also removes bad odours and colour from the water.the GEP Trio filter set contains a discharge siphon, which makes sure that the water in the system is not contaminated by reverse flow in accordance with the European standard EN 1717. The reverse flow is protected because the filter elements have been placed behind an (electro-magnetic) tap valve. The three-stage filter is made with a unique three-fold housing that ensures the system is sound, safe and compact.

IRM® - Rainwater for Utility and Industrial Construction
GEP provides rainwater systems for the utility and industrial construction. In principle, we distinguish between two types of systems; the self-priming rainwater systems and the rainwater systems with supply pump. The self-priming models on average are suitable for buildings with a roof surface up to ca. 1,700 m2 and a maximum debit up to 10m3/h. The IRM Rainmanagers
type B-Class and C-Class Compact C are such systems. Because of reliability, the pump capacity is doubled and these systems have an integrated switch to tap water. In case there is insufficient rainwater in the rainwater well, tap water is pumped into the internal break tank. This means that the large rainwater wells are not filled with valuable tap water. The IRM-Rainmanager saves more water and guarantees higher reliability than traditional systems with drinking water supplementation in the rainwater tank. Naturally, all these machines are KIWA and Belgaqua are certified. The Rainmanager checks, monitors and controls the entire rainwater system and guarantees continuous high reliability.

GEP’s rainwater systems that are equipped with a supply pump are suitable for the relatively large rainwater systems in the utility and industrial construction. For instance, roofs up to 10,000 m2 and debits up to 100 m3/h. The IRM Rainmanagers A-Class, C-Class, D-Class and E-Class are such systems. These IRM rain managers comprise of a steel box with integrated break tank and double
pump system. This break tank is supplied with water from the large tank by means of a supply pump. The double pump system in the Rainmanager provides enough water pressure to the tap points. In case there is insufficient rainwater in the rainwater tank, tap water is pumped into the break tank. This means that the large rainwater wells are not filled with valuable tap water. The IRM-Rainmanagers save more water and guarantee higher reliability than traditional systems with drinking water supplementation in the rainwater tank. Naturally, all these machines are KIWA and Belgaqua are certified. The Rainmanager checks, monitors and controls the entire rainwater system and guarantees continuous high reliability.

The IRM®-6 Rainmanager B-Class is a complete system for bottom installation with IRM® controls, integrated disconnection tank and built-in double pump system. The IRM® controls control the water levels in the disconnection tank and the large rainwater well. The controls also provide for cascade control and an operation hours schedule for the pumps. Lacking rainwater, system fault or manual operation, the system will switch back to the disconnection tank. The drinking water is supplemented into the disconnection tank through a special proportional float. This happens in a reliable manner in accordance with EN1717 and the machine as such is Belgaqua and KIWA certified.
The switch to municipal water can also take place manually. The municipal connection is fitted with stagnation protection that automatically refreshes the water in the machine every 10 days. The potential free contact makes a connection to automated and building management systems possible. Fitted with automatic filter cleaning controls.

IRM®- 8 Rainmanager C-Class Compact C
Principle
The IRM® controls with micro-processor of the GEP CompactC checks, monitors and controls the entire rainwater system and guarantees continuous high reliability.
For the hybrid rainwater system, the rainwater is pumped from the large tank to the system tank. From this system tank, a double pump system provides water to the tap points. Drinking water supplementation takes place in the system tank. This means drinking water never reaches the large tank.
Thanks to these two independent water flows, it is possible to keep the rainwater system operational in case of an empty tank or for maintenance works in the large tank. Thus, the hybrid system is always operational, even without the large tank. The reliability can be increased even further in combination
with a GEP overflow trap with an alarm. In case of reverse flow from the sewer, the system will automatically switch to drinking water and the fault will be indicated optically and acoustically by means of the GEP CompactC.
After a signal from the level indicator, the alarm or the manual switch, the GEP CompactC IRM® system controls automatically switch to drinking water. In this case, (drinking) water is drawn from the break tank. The status and water level can be read from the control panel of the IRM® controls. The controls furthermore provide control of the automatic filter cleaners of the Trident rainwater filters.
The principle of the IRM® philosophy truly is done justice. Guaranteed low-maintenance operation with optimum saving and drinking water will never enter the large tank.

Principle Hybrid systemFor the IRM®-Hybrid rainwater system, the rainwater is pumped from the large tank to the system tank. From this system tank, a double pump system provides water to the tap points. Drinking water supplementation takes place in the system tank. Thanks to these two water flows, it is possible to keep the rainwater system operational in case of an empty tank or for maintenance. This means the hybrid system can operate continuously. The reliability can be increased even further in combination with a GEP overflow trap with an alarm. In case of reverse flow from the sewer, the system will automatically switch to drinking water and the fault will be indicated optically and acoustically. After a signal from the level indicator, the alarm or the manual switch, the A-Class IRM® system controls automatically switch to drinking water. In this case, water is drawn from the system tank. The operational state, possible faults and the water level are displayed on the control panel. Moreover, the A-Class also has a self-inspection function of the magnetic valve. This valve is automatically engaged on a regular basis so that the mains are not filled with still water for a longer period of time.

The educational display allows for visualising the water flows and rainwater system consumption at a glance. For a building, such as a school, this provides quick insight into what happens in the building to save on water and the environment. TFT display indicates the following:
• Consumed water since last rest• Total consumed number of rainwater litres in litres • Total consumed drinking water in litres • Water level in rainwater tank.*
The consumption can be set to zero (reset) to measure from a specific point in time; this makes the display very suited for a school’s lesson plan or to provide insight into the daily, weekly, monthly, etc. consumption. The housing is suited for wall mounting. The design of the image can be designed to the client’s wishes, if requested.
Educational display

The pressure vessel with exchangeable membrane is a metal vessel which can absorbe and store the potential energy of a pressurized liquid in a rubber back, also known as the membrane. When water is required it is possible to make use of the stored energy of the pressurized liquid into usefull capacity. The air chamber is isolated of the water reservoir by the EPDM-membrane (3), which reduces the risks of water pollution by dust, fumes, smoke, oil, bacteria and odors. The insulation between the walls prevents the risk of corrosion.
