IRIDEA®Specialty Coatings

The IRIDEA® range of interior coatings is the latest addition of specialty coatings from Mirotone’s Italian partner the ICA Group. The IRIDEA range has been developed to deliver style, creativity, and high quality design finishes demanded by today’s interior designers and architects.

The range consists of waterborne and solvent based high solids coatings.

SOFTTOUCHSOFTTOUCH is an ecofriendly, low odour, fashionable, 2K Water Based clear topcoat that delivers an extremely silky and smooth matt finish for interior furniture and fittings.

The even matt coating has anti-glare properties, offers high levels of scratch resistance, is non yellowing and has good chemical resistance.

This low VOC water based product is ideal for projects that need to comply with VOC emissions.

Substrates: Single and two pack basecoats, polyester basecoats and UV basecoats.

Drying Times

• Touch Dry: 60-90 minutes at 25ºC and 60% R.H.

• Stackable: Vertically after 24 hours at 23ºC and 60% R.H.

* Not recommended for high chemical exposure such as benchtops in kitchens

NATURALTOUCHNATURALTOUCH is an innovative, low VOC, 2K Water Based coating that has been designed to highlight the natural grain of wood substrates. NATURALTOUCH makes it possible to retain the natural feel of untreated timber for interior furniture and fittings.

NATURALTOUCH can be applied as a single coat onto properly sanded, untreated wood. It offers high levels of chemical resistance, is non yellowing, and provides good scratch resistance.

Substrate: Solid wood or veneer (chemically bleached), Wood stained with water insoluble colourants such as ICA CAN stains.

• Brings out the natural aspect of wood surfaces

• Excellent resistance to yellowing

• Can be applied in a single coat to properly sanded, untreated wood or sealed wood.

• Excellent chemical resistance

Drying Times

• Touch Dry: 90-120 minutes at 25ºC and 60% R.H.

• Stackable: Vertically after 24 hours at 25ºC and 60% R.H.

RUBBER-FEEL (VSL)

RUBBER-FEEL (VSL) is a unique 2K polyurethane gloss topcoat which exhibits extraordinary grip and non-slip properties in a high gloss transparent finish. RUBBER-FEEL exhibits a finish similar to rubber which results in good chemical resistance for internal shelving, general joinery & storage, sports goods, kids bedding and leisure furniture, fittings in caravans and recreational vehicles.

When applied on wood or veneers that show open grain properties, it is recommended to fill-up the grain.

Substrates: Previously coated polyurethane basecoats.

RUBBER-FEEL (VSL)

Rubber-Feel (VSL) Characteristics & Advantages

• Rubber feel

• Extraordinary grip and non-slip properties

• High gloss transparent finish

• Can be applied in a single coat to sanded PU base coats

• Good chemical resistance

Drying Times

• Touch Dry: 4 – 8 Hours at 25ºC and 60% R.H.

• Stackable: Vertically after 24 hours at 25ºC and 60% R.H.

SOFTFEEL (VS)SOFTFEEL (VS SERIES) is an exceptional range of 2K polyurethane matt topcoats with anti-glare properties which deliver a finished surface similar to velvet. Available in clear, black and white matt topcoats for interior furniture and fittings.

Substrate: previously coated polyurethane basecoats.
