The Iraqi ambassador to Tehran has reiterated that theBaghdad government is firm in its plans to expel members ofthe terrorist Mujahedin-e Khalq Organization (MKO) by theend of 2011.

The Iraqi government has made clear its intention to get rid of MKOterrorist members occupying the notorious Iraq- based Camp Ashraf andshut it down before American forces in the country pull out by the end of theyear; the decision is irreversible and definite, said Ambassador MohammadMajid al-Sheikh in a detailed interview with Fars News Agency on Sunday.

He noted that Iraqi officials have expressed their absolute determination toexpel MKO terrorists from their country in separate meetings withrepresentatives from the EU, UN and the International Committee of theRed Cross (ICRC).

In a recent visit to Baghdad, the UN special envoy to Iraq, Martin Kobler,urged Iraqi officials to extend the deadline for MKO presence in Iraq. Iraqisare concerned that UN interference may help the terrorist group to prolongits presence in the country.

The MKO is designated as a terrorist organization by the US governmentand has been described by State Department officials as a repressive cult.

The group fled to Iraq in 1986, where it enjoyed the support of Iraq'sexecuted dictator Saddam Hussein, and set up its camp near the Iranianborder.

MKO is also known to have cooperated with Saddam in suppressing the1991 uprisings in southern Iraq and the massacre of Iraqi Kurds. The grouphas carried out numerous acts of violence against Iranian civilians andgovernment officials.

Iran has repeatedly called on the Iraqi government to expel the group, butthe US has attempted to block the expulsion by mounting pressure on theIraqi government.

From CNN Sr. Producer Paul Courson - Washington (CNN) Several prominentAmericans joined Iranian opposition activists Monday in a noisy demonstrationoutside the White House, urging President Obama to discuss what may soonhappen at a refugee camp as the United States leaves Iraq.

The Iraqi government plans to close Camp Ashrafnortheast of Baghdad at theend of December, without clear assurances the refugees will be protected againstattacks by Iraqi forces and reprisals from neighboring Iran.

The camp is home to more than 3,000 people described as Iranian resistance

figures and their sympathizers. The group, known as MEKor the PeoplesMujahidin of Iran, has been designated by the United States as a terroristorganization. Some GOP lawmakers are calling on the Obama administration tolift that designation and officials say that is under review.

The demonstrators rallied as Iraqs Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki met withPresident Obama at the White House.

Among those leading the rally was former U.S. Sen. Robert Torricelli, a Democratfrom New Jersey.

When President Obama welcomed Mr. Maliki to theWhite House he may havenoticed something, Torricelli told the crowd. When he took his hand back, therewas blood on it.

Torricelli said, That is the blood of the innocent people ofCamp Ashraf.Torricelli said he believes they have been tortured and killed by Iraqi forces underthe Maliki regime.

Former Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge followed Torricelli to offer asimple plea as the Iraqi leader met with Obama,to insist that the Malikigovernment extend the deadline, to ensure the protection of the thirty-four-hundred residents ofCamp Ashraf.

The group believes the current regime in Iraq, under orders from al-Maliki, hastwice staged deadly attacks that have killed nearly 50 people. When word of suchan attack in April came out, it was described as a massacre by the chairman ofthe U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Sen. John Kerry, D-Massachusetts.

Since 2004, the United States has considered the residents of Camp Ashrafnoncombatants and protected persons under the Geneva Conventions. AUnited Nations commission on refugees has described those at Camp Ashraf asformal asylum seekers against persecution by the regime in Iran.

U.S. forces have handed security of Camp Ashraf to the Iraqi government asAmerican forces depart.

Those at the rally outside the White House on Monday suggested Iran is hopingal-Maliki and Iraq will expose thousands of people opposed to the government inTehran by closing the camp and not providing safeguards.

Some called for a United Nations-led force of blue helmets to provide securityfor those living at the camp.

to be celebrated in Camp Ashraf. Next week, President Obama will be meeting with theprime minister of Iraq.

I pray that President Obama is not silent. I pray that he uses that first amendment tothe Constitution to express his opinion. I pray that he recognizes your gathering. I pray

that he petitions the government of Iraq. And I pray that he is not silent, he is cognizantand that he is courageous. Because you see the United States has a disproportionateresponsibility. The United States promised to protect the people of Camp Ashraf. TheUnited States promised that the people of Camp Ashraf would have the Genevaprotections of a protected people. The United States has an obligation to follow throughin that promise, and it has a responsibility to make sure that Prime Minister Maliki fullyunderstands the promise and that there are consequences if its not kept.

There are many reasons that the people of Camp Ashraf deserve to be protected.There are powerful people, not powerful by might but powerful by example, by courage,by empowering women, by respecting rights, by inviting freedom, by allowing speech,by recognizing all faiths, by calling all people as having rights and benefits, not just aselect few. The people of Camp Ashraf have demonstrated commitment. Theyovercame the cynicism of a U.S. government when we were skeptical of theircommitment to be allies in the war on terror. When we were skeptical that they wouldnot lay down their weapons, in fact they turned them over. They overcame theskepticism of the United States and the United States made a promise. The United

States has an obligation to keep its promise.

The United States also has an obligation to recognize I think a growing legal recognitionthat the MEK, the PMI, is not a terrorist organization. The courts in the United Stateshave spoken and challenged the State Department to make the decision. And thedecision is ripe. In fact its overripe. And it should be announced before Prime MinisterMaliki meets with President Obama. And the State Department should say the MEK isnot a terrorist organization and they should be delisted.

So I dont want next week to be remembered as a week where America stood by withsilence, or acquiescence, and caused human rights to be violated. on Iran from one Larry Franklin, so-called NSC expert on Iran. This is just one example of how American financial, political, and media poweralways seems to intersect when it comes to the subject of Israel. Andsince Israel and the MEK are now full business partners in directing theiranimus at Iran, the MEK will draw an increasingly free pass in theAmerican media and government, as long as they are doing the Mossadand Israeli Lobbys bidding.

This is straight out of the Keystone Cops.

And when we ask who might have benefited by a false-flag operationof this type pinned on Iran, the clear answer is Israel and its Neo-Conservative agents of influence in the American government angling for

a wider war in the Middle East. Israel does not want any regional powerin the Middle East threatening its absolute hegemony in the region,especially Iran. Simultaneously, they need an international PRdiversion from their illegal activities in Gaza, the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and elsewhere, where the Zionist State is clearly losingcatastrophically in international opinion in every known venue outsidethat of the United States. Even in the case of the latter, there areevidences of cracks in the canvas where the Netanyahu government isconcerned. And between theominous downturn in the American national
