Most distinguished Persian art and dates back to ancient Persia.Can be divided into three groups:

• Farsh (sized anything greater than 6×4 feet)• Qālicheh (meaning rug, sized 6×4 feet and

smaller)• Gelim (including Zilu, meaning rough carpet)

Carpet Weavingdates back to 500 B.C., during the Achaemenid period.A Persian carpet has a wide variety designs and styles.A unique find in 1949 was discovered by Russian archeologists in the glaciers of Pazyryk Valley, in Altai Mountains in Siberia.
