Just ONE of your Tools!Just ONE of your Tools!

”iPods and iPads are the Swiss Army Knives of assistive technology.  Convenient, portable, multi-purpose, a Swiss Army Knife is perfect for some situations that arise in the field.  But will it really suffice for all your day-to-day cutlery needs?  Can it replace all your food preparation tools? With it, aside from cutting up a few vegetables or opening a can of soup, can you teach someone to be a cook?  Worse yet, who remodeling a kitchen would refuse space for kitchen drawers or cabinets, citing the Swiss army knife as the all-in-one utensil?"Bruce Helmbold, MA CCC-SLP, R.SLPSpeech Language PathologistI CAN Centre for Assistive TechnologyGlenrose Rehabilitation Hospitalretrieved from personal email 1/6/11
