WHAT IS THE VALUE OF THE CERTIFICATION

Certified IPC Application Specialist (CIS) Training focuses on the knowledge and hand skills needed to produce high quality soldered interconnections. On successful completion of this course, you will be awarded a serialized IPC Certificate, which aids in the traceability of the program. The training will increase your quality of workmanship. The course is modular and combines both theory and hands-on elements, which will provide you with the knowledge and skills to produce IPC acceptable solder connections. The hands-on exercises are valuable, as they reinforce the theoretical concepts learned.

COURSE OUTLINE AND OVERVIEW

It is relevant to anyone with assembly tasks, duties and functions, who will be responsible for the quality and the reliability of electronic and electrical assemblies.(Maintenance technicians, quality & inspection personnel). The practical elements of this course make it particularly suited to assembly operators, production supervisors and process engineers.

In CIS (Certified IPC Specialist), training Module 1 is a pre-requisite for all modules. The training consists of the following modules.

Module 1 : Introduction/Overview/Policies and Procedures of J STD 001 - No Workmanship Module 2 : Wires & Terminals – Workmanship Module 3 : Through-Hole Technology - Workmanship Module 4 : Surface Mount Technology - Workmanship Module 5 : Inspection Methodology - No Workmanship

After successfully completing the program you will have the Title as CIS (Certified IPC Specialist)

ACCREDITATION

• You will be provided with the training material.• The IPC trainer will use slide shows and discuss the

specifications in detail.• You will learn how to interpret the procedures in

terms of skill level, level conformance and product classification.

• The hands-on-training consists of many practical exercises to reinforce the different technologies learned.

• Module 1 is mandatory and a pass mark of 70% is required on all the theoretical modules.

• Workmanship Standards will be tested.

• NB: Certification is valid for two years and then a re-certification exam must be written before the expiry date. (The same course material will be used).
