It has a good search tool, where you can search at national/regional level allowing to tailor your search per topic. You can organise your own library of relevant information / documents. Users can rate the quality of the regional information, send comments to the webmaster to help improve the quality. The RIM offers 2 benchmarking tools, easy-access standard benchmarking tool, interactive expert benchmarking tool. 43 standard indicators are so far included. It also lets you create different types of charts to illustrate your region's standing compared to other regions. It is planned to integrate an executive summary output so users can create pdf documents including an overview of all the relevant information for a region. Anthropology, with its holistic approach, can contribute to deepen the understanding of many modern problems related to the research and prevention of complex diseases. There are number of quantitative traits that are risk factors for mentioned diseases, such as anthropometric factors, physiological factors, biochemical factors, biochemical blood factors and genetic factors. Genetically isolated population offer many advantages for studies into complex traits. The high degree of inbreeding and/or founder effects in small population isolates may result in an increased frequency of recessive alleles. The good genealogical records, easier to standardize phenotype definition use of isolated population also reduces the complexity of polygenic disorders by reducing the number of loci probably involved in the disorder. The benefits of isolated populations include the higher prevalence of complex diseases, higher level of inbreeding and the opportunity to map recessive alleles, more uniform genetic background, less migrations, uniform environment. We plan to conduct a comprehensive and systematic study on MetS through collection and analysis of epidemiological, demographic, and relevant biological and clinical data. EURAXESS Rights creates the right environment for mobile researchers The European Commission is committed to setting high standards for rights of researchers and those of their employers and funders. The ultimate objective of EURAXESS Rights is to create an attractive, open and sustainable European labour market for researchers. The “European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers” set out these rules and obligations, which can be viewed here. Both “Charter & Code” value the importance of mobility whether geographical, intersectoral, or between public and private sectors, as an important means of enhancing scientific knowledge and professional development at any stage of a researcher's career. To facilitate mobility, the EC and its Member States have made significant progress in the implementation of the Scientific Visa Package. It is a vital instrument helping researchers obtain permission to enter, stay and work in the EU Member States for the purpose of carrying out scientific research. It is designed to make the process of receiving a residence permit easier for researchers wishing to carry out research for a short-term (up to 3 months) or long-term (more than 3 months) in the EU. Another important issue for mobile researchers is their social security coverage, especially their pension rights. The Charter establishes the need to ensure that mobile researchers are adequately covered. In addition, the EC is committed to delivering a concrete follow-up to the creation of a pan-EU pension fund for researchers. A feasibility study recommends the establishment of the right to choose a "virtual pension-home," which would provide the stability that a highly mobile researcher needs. A report with recommendations on improving the social security protection of mobile researchers has also in the meantime been finalised. Industry for Europe - Europe for industry Industry must be placed centre stage if EU is to remain a global economic leader. This is the core message of the Communication on "An integrated industrial policy for the globalisation era" adopted by the EC on the initiative of Vice-President Antonio Tajani. It sets out a strategy that aims to boost growth, jobs by maintaining, supporting a strong, diversified, competitive industrial base in EU offering well-paid jobs while becoming less carbon intensive. In this era of intensifying globalisation, the concept of national sectors, industries is obsolete. Coordinated EU policy responses are needed. EU needs an approach that looks at the whole value chain, from infrastructure, raw materials to

Access of SMEs to external financing has improved The overall situation concerning the access of SMEs to external financing has improved at the euro area level. Between March and September 2010 the proportion of SMEs reporting a worsening in access to bank loans, at 24%, almost halved compared to the previous survey, when it stood at 42%. The book is released under a Creative Commons license and has been written by experts in an effort to engage the scientific community, engineers and scholars worldwide in the design, development and deployment of the newest mobile applications. The goal is to create awareness on the huge possibilities of Mobile Science (or "m-Science" in short), as well as to motivate a new generation of learners, scholars and scientists to participate in the challenges of the rapidly developing new field of m-Science. In this open book demonstrate, people are using mobile technology in powerful new ways to carry out scientific research, to share results and to disseminate knowledge in affordable ways. This includes data gathering, analysis and process of data, and access to on-line services and applications directed to nurture scientists and scholars using mobile phones, tablets, netbooks, etc. The book gives a balanced mix of technical detail, general overview, societal impact and a sense of the possible. It underlies all the creative ways that people are finding to use mobile devices for doing m-Science. The book also aims to give concrete, hands on, practical information about how to actually get started with mobile science yourself: ranging from spectroscopy, sensing and supercomputing to programming and education.
