Background:
According to China National Petroleum Corporation Economic and Technical Institute recently released “Domestic and International Oil and Gas Industry Development Report in 2013," China’s dependence on foreign natural gas reached 31.6 % in 2013.
According to the National Development and Reform Commission 's plan, by the year 2015 and 2020 , China 's natural gas consumption will reach about 230 billion cubic meters and 400 billion cubic meters respectively, the supply gap may widen to 70 billion cubic meters.
According to Wu Xinxiong, Director of China’s NEA, China needs to accelerate the development for oil & gas by putting effort on unconventional resources development such as shale gas. The development of unconventional gas such as shale gas, CBM and coal gas will become an important supplement for natural gas supply.
After 3 years’ development, China shale gas industry is steadily moving forward to the 6.5 billion cb m target in 2015 led by CNPC and Sinopec. However, China still need diversified investment such as private companies and foreign capital to achieve its own “Shale Gas Revolution”, as well as technology innovation and import of overseas experiences in order to acquire large-scale commercial production.
As the top class shale gas summit in Asia-Pacific area which had been held for 3 times already, ASG2014 gathers government, research institutes, companies and financial professionals and senior administrators to establish the best communication platform for shale gas policy, technology and economy.
4th ECF Asia Shale Gas Summit (ASG2014) will focus on the most up-to-date information of Asia-Pacific unconventional resources and E&P technology, and provide the best market trend to delegates.
