– Each user has unique login and password

– Administrator – full rights for user and system setup

– User - read-only, receive alarms, launch traces

• Alarm history log

– Stores all link status alarms and failures

– Stores both time of alarm and return to normal

– The server performs a regular system calibration

– Calibrates laser changes over time, temperature variations on fiber, etc.
