Designated person can Haze if:

• Protection or welfare of the mammal

• Protection or welfare of people

• Non-lethal

Maintain human and bear safety by:

• Preventing bears from associating food with humans and human developments.

• “Training” bears to avoid people.

• Identifying “defensible space” in industrial developments and communities

• Allowing bears to use travel routes (natural and man-made) to move along the coast.

Responders must be fully aware, understand, and capable of implementing conditions LOA.

Consequences

Polar bear responder actions will be subjected to a high level of scrutiny.
