Materials for the review will be available at:
Last review was extremely useful!
Are we ready for operation? last time (Sept. 2004) I said no. this time: very close!
What do we (pulsar group) expect from this review? To review
- Is the system robust enough for operation?
- Is the current performance good enough for initial operation?
- is there anything missing on our to-do-list in the coming month?
(see Cheng-Ju’s talk)
Our goal is still March …
Commissioning manpower
One thing I am proud of: many people are working on physics analysis, or taking
class, or other tasks while commissioning the Pulsar L2
system in the past few months…even Sakari has been
helping XFT and SVT upgrade work… yet, we have achieved a lot
Key to success: attract smart/talent young people! highly productive and coherent team work … need to keep the moment going …

To keep things simple:(1) Waiting for Reces data (2) Very simple PCI handling Different from alpha case Not optimal timing performance
Baseline for operationPulsar pre-processors
S32PCI64 • allows CPU to process current event, while loading next (up to) 31 events … • we only request one event at a time right now will improve this later
• Alpha process current event, while loading next one…
