Due to the HB breakers s high percussive performance to weight ratio, smaller carriers can be used, which can result in fewer investments and a lower cost of ownership.

AutoControl: control your machine’s hungerAutoControl is a solution which boosts the productive performance of Atlas Copco hydraulic breakers. The system automatically controls the breaker’s output to suit the working conditions and rock hardness, thereby creating the perfect benefit for users: maximum blow frequency for soft materials, and maximum single-blow energy when things get tougher.

AutoControl is available as standard in the heavy range of Atlas Copco breakers, as well as in the medium-weight range from MB 1000 and up. The benefits can be seen in use anywhere, whether for working boulders, direct extraction, or demolition operations: productivity is increased and the strain from idle strokes is limited to a minimum.

These days, hydraulic breakers usually work under very harsh conditions. Avoid indigestion: PowerAdaptPowerAdapt offers the highest level of security. When hydraulic breakers are interchangeably operated on several different carriers, there is a risk that a breaker will be hydraulically overloaded due to incorrect oil pressure settings. The conventional pressure relief valves used on our competitors’ breakers are constantly draining oil to the tank and as such waste energy, create heat and reduce the efficiency of the unit in addition to ultimately reducing profits.

Since excessive oil pressure is extremely damaging for a hydraulic breaker, PowerAdapt helps to prevent overloads by switching off the equipment, thereby preventing downtimes and high repair costs.

ContiLube® II Good gravy makes every job tastyContiLube® II is an automated lubrication facility which offers the optimal and cost-effective lubrication of the HB breaker range. It is a fixed component that is directly attached to the hydraulic breaker, and this makes it simple to operate, set and monitor. ContiLube® II cartridges are filled with 500 g of highly viscous chisel paste. The case of the ContiLube® II lubrication system features a compact and self-actuating pump which only dispenses chisel grease when required, thereby helping to optimise consumption. All ContiLube® II connections are well protected thanks to their installation inside the hammer box.

The system works autonomously and is easily accessible without long hose connections. The filling level of the cartridge can always be monitored by the operator of the excavator since its position on the breaker is within the operator’s field of vision.

ContiLube® II plug and play

The cartridge is screw-mounted and can therefore be quickly and easily changed. No tools are needed for this operation. This type of cartridge is commercially available and refillable.

No fly in the ointment! DustProtector II, the option to ensure your productivity

This protective feature, unique with its two stages and only available with Atlas Copco hydraulic breakers, can optionally be installed on all HB

breakers. This means that sustainable, long-term and trouble-free operations can be achieved under very dusty working conditions. A combination of several scrapers reliably reduces the penetration of abrasive stone dust and other foreign objects from the lower section of the breaker. This helps in protecting both the hammer unit and the bushings against damage as well as premature wear.

VibroSilenced – Effective noise and vibration damping as standardThe VibroSilenced system is a highly effective arrangement of elastic damping elements which acoustically insulate the percussion mechanism from the external guide system. With this, it is no coincidence that Atlas Copco breakers are among the quietest on the market. This has been proven by measurements based on Directive 2000/14/EC, which give a guaranteed sound power level of 121 dB (A).

What kind of job do you get on your plate?The HB breaker range was developed to get even the toughest and hardest jobs done. It’s a genuine heavy duty tool designed for millions of hits under the harshest condi-tions; a real production machine for 24/7 operation. There are only three main parts that move: the steering valve, the piston and the working tool. Of course, fewer parts mean a lower risk of failure. In addition, Atlas Copco breakers are easy to service and maintain, which makes them suitable for a wide range of applications:

Primary breaking

Secondary breaking

Atlas Copco hydraulic breakers can be used to reduce boulder sizes in a rock pile. Mounting the secondary reduction breaker on a mobile carrier provides a flexible unit which can be used at several stations in the quarry.

Demolition

Atlas Copco hydraulic breakers are ideally suited to demolition tasks. Their high quality means that the multi-shift operations required to meet tight deadlines pose no problem. They are commonly used to break down concrete structures – both non-reinforced and reinforced.

Tunnelling

Working on tunnelling applications im-plies operating in an extremely dusty environment. The DustProtector II is absolutely necessary for tunnelling jobs in order to reduce abrasive dust from penetrating into the breaker’s per-cussion chamber. In addition, the per-cussion chamber must be ventilated.

Excavating & Trenching

Breakers in the MB and HB series are among the most powerful yet quietest models on the market. They are well suited to excavating trenches for pipelines and drains (for ex. in hot environments, desert conditions, 24/7 applications) and can easily handle hard rock.

Special applications

Underwater – To allow reliable operation in underwater applications, an underwater connector kit with protective equipment must be used. Hot applications – Special kits are available to allow for applications in hot surroundings, such as steel production facilities.
