The DCCP’s Vision
“To encourage responsive, prosperous and sustainable communities in Durban, by addressing the impacts of climate change on our City, and enhancing opportunities for a low carbon development path”

1. Support, facilitate and/or endorse climate change projects and initiatives
2. Facilitate knowledge sharing and awareness raising on climate issues, projects and events
3. Provide input to relevant policy and planning processes
4. Encourage the rapid implementation of priority opportunities

MEMBERSHIP
• DCCP to act as reference group for development of City Wide Climate Change Strategy
• DCCP to form sector based working groups in priority areas (e.g. water, energy, transport)
• DCCP to host specific open forum meetings on topics such as the Climate Change White Paper and community adaptation efforts
