Easter Celebration

A HUGE thank you to our Music Ministry, Worship Committee, A/V team, ushers, greeters, bulletin folders, staff and all the other people who made our Good Friday and Easter services so special. We had many visi-tors and occasional attenders who heard the Good News of Jesus Christ in creative, dynamic and meaningful ways. We could not offer dynamic wor-ship without the hard work and devotion of so many of you. Thank you!

Thank you!

Thank you for the lovely altar flowers on April 23rd honoring my birthday day. It was such a nice surprise to have them dedicated to me. I took them home and enjoyed them all week. You are so thoughtful and loving – I am blessed. Thank you again.

Pastor Nancy

Did you know?

The lovely slide presentations that guide you through worship every week are created by Sherry Moore. She has been faithfully using her crea-tive eye to visually communicate the worship’s message for the last five years. She works with the pastors to illustrate sermon themes and sermon series topics. She also creates the announcement slides and has recently added putting the video bulletin board together. The video bulletin board is next to the church office and runs in the Fellowship Hall on Sundays. She shares not only announcements and pictures of our NSUMC family but of special events as well. We thank her for this faithful work that enhances our worship.

Wesleyan

Quadrilateral The phrase which has  rela vely recently  come

into use to describe the principal factors that John Wes-ley believed illuminate the core of the Chris an faith for the  believer.  Wesley  did  not  formulate  the  succinct statement  now  commonly  referred  to  as  the  Wesley Quadrilateral. Building on the Anglican theological tradi-on, Wesley  added  a  fourth  emphasis,  experience.  The

resul ng four components or "sides" of the quadrilateral are (1) Scripture, (2) tradi on, (3) reason, and (4) experi-ence. For United Methodists, Scripture is considered the primary source and standard for Chris an doctrine. Tra-di on is experience and the witness of development and growth  of  the  faith  through  the  past  centuries  and  in many na ons and cultures. Experience is the individual's understanding and appropria ng of the faith in the light of  his  or  her  own  life.  Through  reason  the  individual Chris an brings to bear on the Chris an faith discerning and cogent thought. These four elements taken together bring  the  individual  Chris an  to  a  mature  and  fulfilling understanding  of  the  Chris an  faith  and  the  required response of worship and service.
