Different Types of Representatives
Can you think of the different types of rep???

Resort Representatives
18-30 Reps
•Might work for 18-30’s, 2wentys and Escapades
•May have to party every night even if don’t feel like it!
•Must have lots of energy and stamina, not much time for sleep
•Need to remain sober and sensible as injuries, sickness, theft etc common
•Most commonly work in West Med and more demand during summer season
Resort Representatives
Over 50’s
•Most tour operators have brands aimed at older customers
•Want people with more maturity, good communication skills and second language
•Role would be completely different to that of a 18-30’s rep
•Would be more focused on experiencing the history, culture and relaxation
Ski Representatives
•Ski resorts offer lot of seasonal jobs
•Tour Ops prefer to retain and use trained proven staff
•Do the same jobs as a rep in warmer resorts
•Allocated number of hotels or chalets and visit their guests, solve problems and sell excursions etc
•Likely to be keen skiers or snowboarders
Chalet Host•You may be hired by a tour operator
•You have one chalet to look after
•You would live in the chalet and get free food and drink (that you make)
•You would be responsible for cleaning and cooking up 3 meals a day
•You would get some free time to ski or snowboard etc
Transfer Representatives
•Meet and greet holiday makers at the airport, take them by coach to hotel
•May just welcome holiday makers if travelling by taxi, car hire etc
•Have to ensure they are checked into accommodation
•Least appealing job as the hours long and there is little variation to role
•Very challenging as they tend to have to deal with problems e.g. delayed flights
Campsite Representatives
•Often students working aboard for summer
•Also known as campsite couriers
•Responsible for cleaning tents and holiday homes between clients, participating in organised events, dealing with problems etc
•Will stay in tents in staff area
•CRB will be required if working with children (Criminal Record Bureau)
Head Representatives
•Will be responsible for looking after all the reps within a resort
•Would have regular one to one meetings with the reps
•Will have to carry out appraisals, issue disciplinaries and hire and fire reps
•They will also have to ensure reps are meeting sales targets with regards to car hire and excursion sales
•May have to hold training sessions and cover if a rep is sick
