Intrinsix IM ensures the continuity, efficiency and safety of warehouse operations and delivers accurate accounting of inventory, saving time and money.

Inventory Management

Intrinsix IM records the receipt, management, issue and relocation of stock and equipment, capturing electronic inventory transactions on the ‘shop floor’, whilst following the flow of a customer’s existing business processes.

Intrinsix IM offers an accurate, reliable and up to the minute record of all inventory, including unambiguous identification of stock items, quantities, locations, internal transactions, quality assurance and documentation.

With a greater level of confidence around inventory, customers can achieve more efficient and streamlined manufacturing and/or production processes, reduce unnecessary costs from over-stocking, offer their clients improved lead times, improve planning processes, improve their supplier and client relations, significantly reduce operating costs and increase safety standards.

Goods ReceiptIntrinsix IM electronically identifies goods at point of receipt and immediately cross-references the goods with the purchase order direct on a handheld mobile device. Quality assurance checks are performed and any quality documents specified by the buyer are checked for validity. The information can be received and sent direct from and to the ERP system in real-time, allowing the expediting team to quickly turnaround required rectifications.

Goods IssuePicking, packing and manifesting materials and equipment for delivery uses handheld mobile devices to read RFID (radio frequency identification) tags for higher value items and barcodes for smaller lower value items. The handhelds can be connected in real-time with an ERP system, where they collect packing and manifesting advice. The opportunity to incorrectly select goods and quantities for packing is completely eradicated, ensuring the correct materials are shipped first time.

Put Away and Stock MovementsThe process of shelving and racking within the warehouse is completely managed by Intrinsix IM. The use of handheld mobile devices with optical barcode and RFID readers permits goods and equipment to be easily identified and accurately associated with a specific location.

Intrinsix LM manages the activities related to the movement ofgoods across global locations. Any physical movement is capturedand recorded, giving accurate and real-time logistics data.

Logistics Management

Intrinsix LM captures stock and equipment movements at the frontline using a combination of RFID enabled devices such as handheld mobile devices and gate readers, located at strategic points in the supply chain. Intrinsix LM promotes increased visibility of materials and equipment, providing maximum traceability and minimum loss.

Intrinsix LM offers an accurate, reliable and up to the minute record of all logistics activities, including identification of container inventory, shipments, manifests, critical and hazardous loads and compliance with customs documentation. With greater levels of confidence around container inventory and shipments, the customer can provide their clients with accurate delivery times and assurance of container contents.

With the efficient identification of hazardous materials, logistics operators are better placed to provide a safer working environment for their employees and manufacturers/operators ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for the movement of hazardous goods through the supply chain.

CCU Management Intrinsix LM facilitates the creation of temporary identifiers for third party containers, provides accurate location data of containers throughout the entire logistics process and manages the certification and documentation associated with containers whilst conducting regular inventory operations.

Picking and PackingIntrinsix LM provides picking and packing functionality such as the association of picked items with containers, registering the destination of shipments, viewing packing lists associated with shipments, unpacking/modifying packing lists and flagging critical items.

Shipping and ManifestingAt the point containers are loaded onto the means of transport, a manifest is created which contains a list of all items loaded, along with any associated packing lists for containers and weights.

Intrinsix OM captures inspection results, maintenance related data and associated work management at the ‘coal face’, alerting stakeholders to potentially serious issues in a time-critical manner, reducing unplanned plant shutdowns and loss of revenues.

Operations Management

Inspections Intrinsix OM uses ruggedised intrinsically-safe handheld mobile devices with AIDC technology to better utilise frontline personnel and gives instant accurate results, enabling faster identification and implementation of corrective actions and process improvements. Remedial maintenance notifications are raised and can be passed to an ERP system, where work orders can be raised and passed back to the handhelds for execution.

Watchkeeping/Operator RoundsNot all control systems manage 100% of a plant’s equipment. In such cases, it is vital that readings are collected on a daily basis to ensure equipment continues to operate effectively. Intrinsix OM collects data at prescribed points, checking against defined operating thresholds. Instant remedial notifications are issued if readings are out with the thresholds and the integrity of the plant is at risk or there is an imminent risk to the safety of personnel.

Hydrocarbon Releases (HCRs)HCRs are high profile risks in the industry. Intrinsix OM meets Energy Institute guidelines for HCR-related equipment such as flexible hoses, small bore tubing and flanges, so that inspections and related activities are carried out effectively, promoting compliance. Intrinsix OM minimises the risk of HCR and plant shutdown, maximises production revenues and ensures a safer working environment.

Technical Overview

Mobile and AIDCArnlea’s core capability and experience lies in the application of mobile and AIDC technology – and this technology is at the heart of Intrinsix, enabling front-line supply chain and operations personnel to carry out their activities quickly, easily and accurately. The handheld mobile devices can read RFID tags and barcodes and are ruggedized for use in warehouses and hazardous and challenging field environments. They range from smartphone-like devices and tablets through to Zone 1 ATEX certified handheld devices suitable for potentially explosive atmospheres. Fixed readers can be deployed at points throughout the supply chain along with active RFID tags to enable tracking and tracing of equipment, materials and containers.

Standalone or Integrated Customers can choose whether to run Intrinsix as a standalone system or integrate seamlessly with their corporate operational system. Intrinsix has its own database to allow office and field based management and staff to use their desktop computers, not only for data entry and processing, but also for comprehensive web-based reporting, allowing management to make faster, more informed decisions.

For many of our customers, their corporate and asset management systems are an integral part of their organisation and processes. The ability to integrate tightly and securely becomes an important requirement. Intrinsix addresses the need for a secure environment with the validation and authentication of ERP/EAM system users on the handheld mobile devices.

Many of our customers’ operating locations do not have the capability to connect to a network. Arnlea’s experience in this area is unmatched. Intrinsix mobility solutions operate in a connected and standalone mode allowing data to be captured and retained on the handheld mobile device, with the data transfer taking place once the device is docked into a connected environment or when Wi-Fi connectivity is re-established.
