Dear Masters and friends,

This spring, we the Houston group have the opportunity to organize the 2011 Annual Pilgrimage trip to China, from April 21 to May02. We will visit Emei Shan to pay homage to the Universally Worthy Boddhisattva Samantabhadra. This will be a wonderfultime for participants to receive "Leave Home" precepts and for all to practice 3-steps-1 bow, paying respect to the Great Bodhisattvaand his practices.

In addition, we will visit the Giant Maitreya Buddha Statue, known as the largest Buddha statue in the world, at LeShan, and theGiant Panda Reserve Sanctuary in Chengdu. As a bonus, we will be hiking and meditating in the breath taking scenery ofZhangJiaJie National Forest (the back drop for the movie Avatar).

This event will be opened to all who are interested. However, we are only able to accommodate up to 150 persons, so First Prioritywill be reserved for the "Temporary Leave Home" participants.

Meditation Retreat in San Jose, CA:

Dear Dharma friends,

CSS-San Jose is honored and excited to be hosting thesecond Trimester Retreat for 2011. It will be from4/15/2011 - 4/17/2011 (Friday through Sunday). We wouldlike to invite all of you to come and join us, practice with us,and support us.

The retreat this time will be at the peaceful and spaciousRedwood Camp base, surrounded by heavenly redwoodtrees. It's about an hour drive from San Jose. Themeditation hall is very roomy and comfortable. Livingquarters are very clean. Food is both delicious and nutritious.

Please register early to secure your room preference andcarpooling arrangement. Your lodging will be reservedupon receiving your registration payment. The rooms are

allocated on a first come first serve basis.
