Agents,

I have been informed of a potentially grave crisis in the CalixisSector. You will seek passage to Station Calixis at once torendezvous with me. We shall be investigating this situation atonce.

A Space Hulk has appeared in the sector. If you are uneducated orignorant, a Space Hulk is a vast conglomeration of vessels lost inthe warp, brought together by flowing warp currents and fused by itsenergies. These Hulks occasionally pass back into real space, andare used by dangerous and technologically limited Xenos species totransit between worlds.

As the interior of a Space Hulk is dangerous, we will not beentering alone. I have recruited five members of the Deathwatch toescort us on this mission. The Deathwatch is comprised of eliteSpace Marines selected from their home Chapters to serve a tour ofduty. They should do us well.

However, there is also a Strike Cruiser belonging to the Chapter ofDark Blood in this system. If they can be convinced to donate menfor our boarding action it would be a great boon. You shall have theresponsibility of communicating with their Captain to secure theseextra men.

I would usually report this via the normal channels but thisone appears to be displaying unusual behaviour. One of the few Lamenters known to still be alive in the Imperium.Most of their Chapter was lost in recent history after being sent ona penitent crusade for their part in the Badab War. Victus was onattachment to the Deathwatch as the chapters crusade f leets set off

for the final time. He now fights to honour his brothers, and redeemhis chapters name by slaying as many Xenos as the chapter would havehad they completed their penitent crusade. This, combined with hisnatural bloodlust makes him a considerably dangerous individualindeed.

The Salamanders are a First Founding chapter, sons of the PrimarchVulkan. They are known across the Imperium for their masterfulcrafting techniques and affinity for fire. Brother Lamarr

exemplifies this affinity, wielding his flamer with unparalleledskill and grace. Like many Salamanders, Lamarr shows a reluctance totake actions that would involve the death or injury of anycivilians. This is considered to be an issue by Deathwatch Command,who recommend he is only sent into situations where civilians arenot present, lest he hesitate in his duty.

After a confidential discussionwith the Captain, Trix was accepted as a Black Shield; a Marine whomust serve Deathwatch until their demise, working to repay whateverbetray their chapter was guilty of. He is more than willing to castaside his own wretched life to save another brother, seeing his pastas tainting him to the point of expendability. HISTORICAL RECORD: CHAPTER OF DARK BLOOD

This chapter was created in the 22 nd Founding (37 th Millenium) and isa Successor Chapter to the Blood Angels. Their first Chapter Masterwas formerly the 3 rd Company Captain of the Carmine Blades, Zadkiel.Shortly after their founding, the Chapter was deployed to theEastern Fringes to stave off a minor Xenos threat.

Another notable event in the Chapter s history came in 537M38 whenthe chapter fought to repel Abaddon s 9 th Black Crusade. Whilst notparticipating in the most famous battles on Antecanis and Corillia,they took important actions to eliminate minor splinter groupsseeking to spread anarchy, and in the mop-up action once the crusadehad concluded.

Recently the chapter was involved in breaking the WAAAGH of OrkWarlord C murun, saving the Bajoris Sector. They also came to somenote after rescuing a Adeptus Mechanicus expedition from a NecronTombworld.

By far their most defining moment in recent history was coming tothe aid of the Vigilant Owls as their homeworld burned. Two hundredof Dark Blood s number fell as they fended off the raiders. This hascreated an unusual sense of solidarity between the two chapters, whoare now incredibly friendly and cooperative with each other. Thisrelationship was only strengthened when a task force lead by CaptainSamael, Lord Executioner of the Dark Blood and Master of 9 th Companyhunted down and beheaded Tharos the Reaver. The head of Tharos waspresented to the Vigilant Owls, who now display it aboard their newfortress-monastery, the Strike Cruiser Shadow .
