Ground breaking ceremonies willbe held for the New Mexico GirlsRanch at 10: OOarn , Saturday, August1,1981 on a 117 acre tract of land justsouth of Lamy, NM,

The New Mexico Girls Ranch is adivision of the well known NewMexico Boys Ranch. Mrs. Alice Kinghas served as a member of the BoysRanch Board of Directors for anumber of years and is presentlyserving as Chairwoman for the GirlsRanch Advisory Committee whichspearheaded the raising thenecessary funds to build the firstcottage and get the project started.

Ultimately the New Mexico GirlsRanch will care for 36 to 48 homelessgirls. Like the Boys Ranch, it will bebuilt and operated entirely withprivate contributions,
