Fashion Tips On What to Wear for your Next Interview
SUIT. Make sure it is clean, conservative, and fits well. Dark Blue or Gray are best.
DRESS SHIRT. Should be solid color, long sleeve, good fit, and compliment the suit color. Stay away from bright colors.
TIE. Conservative is always best, but use color to brighten up your suit.
SHOES. Always wear polished leather shoes (tennis shoes/sneakers are never
appropriate). Wear black shoes with black, blue or gray suits; brown shoes with brown, olive, or green beige suits. Shoes and belt should always match! ACCESSORIES. Do not wear an excessive amount of rings.
Stay away from earrings and necklaces. Wear a nice conservative watch. Never wear sunglasses. THE WHOLE PACKAGE. Make sure everything is pressed,
neat and free from stains. Stop in the restroom before you enter to make a last-minute check.
TIPS FOR MEN
CASUAL VS. BUSINESS
SUIT. Make sure it is clean, conservative, and fits well. Skirt or pant suit is fine. Solid colors are best – navy, black, gray, brown. Stay away from trendy suits. If you would wear it to a nightclub, don’t wear it to an interview!
BLOUSE. Should be solid color, long sleeve, good fit, and compliment the suit color. Stay away from bright colors. Cotton or silk is best.
SCARF. This is an optional accent that should be worn around inside or under the suit collar. Make sure it compliments the suit.
SHOES. Always wear polished pumps with about a ½” heel
(tennis shoes/sneakers are never appropriate). Stay away from open-toed shoes, high heels, or anything too trendy. Make sure shoes compliment the suit.
ACCESSORIES. Do not wear an excessive amount of rings. Stay away from distracting earrings and necklaces. Wear a nice conservative watch. Never wear sunglasses.
THE WHOLE PACKAGE. Make sure everything is pressed, neat and free from stains. Stop in the restroom before you enter to make a last-minute check.
