Interview How did you get together as a band? We all wanted to play Sweet Child O’ Mine at a gig and it went well, so we decided to keep playing as a band. How long has the band been together? We’ve been together for about 9 months now. How did you come up with the band name? Basically, we were called Fun with Moses but then thought it was ‘about time’ we came up with a proper band name and so About Time stuck. How do you write your own music? We do it by just hearing things we think sound good, then writing them down or putting them into GarageBand and then adding other parts like drums and bass. Which is your favourite song to play and why? Ellen’s favourite song to play is Savior by Rise Against because it’s fast and is fun to play and is also really good to sing to. Matt’s is Slither by Velvet Revolver because he likes the riff and vocals. How would you describe your style of music in 3 words? Matt’s three words are ‘An Awesome Style’. What instruments do you play? David plays guitar in the band but also plays drums, Matt plays bass and sings in the band but can also play guitar and piano, and Ellen plays drums in the band but can also play guitar and trumpet.
