Interpretation of the Quran- Surat Al-A'la (87)- Lesson (1-3)- Verses [1-3]: Exaltingand Glorification

Praise be to Allah, the Lord of Creations, and Peace and blessings be upon our prophet Muhammad, the faithfuland the honest.

Oh, Allah, w e know nothing but w hat You teach us. You are the All- Know er, the Wise. Oh Allah, teach usw hat is good for us, and benefit us from w hat You taught us, and increase our know ledge. Show us therighteous things as righteous and help us to do them, and show us the bad things as bad and help us to keepaw ay from them.

O Allah our Lord, lead us out from the depths of darkness and illusion, unto the lights of erudition andknow ledge, and from the muddy shallow s of lusts unto the heavens of Your Vicinity.

The derivatives of the word “Glorify”:

“Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High, Who has created(everything),and thenproportioned it. And Who has measured; and then guided. And Who brings out the pasturage, And

then makes it dark stubble.”

This is the f irst part, "Glorify" is an imperative, and all the derivatives of this inf initive are mentioned in theQur'an, as the infinitive of Glorify is “glorif ied” Allah said:

“Glorified be He (Allah) Who took His slave(Muhammad[p.b.u.h])for a journey by night”

And in many other verses such as:

“Whatsoever is in the heavens and the earth glorifies Allah”

(Al-Hadid-1)

"Whatsoever is in the heavens and the earth glorifies Allah"

(Al-Jumu'ah-1)

So it w as in inf initive form in the follow ing Ayah:

“Glorified be He (Allah) Who took His slave(Muhammad[p.b.u.h])for a journey by night”

[Surat Al Israa, 1]

And it w as in the present tense in the follow ing Ayah:

"Whatsoever is in the heavens and the earth glorifies Allah

(surat Al-Jumu'ah,1)

And it stayed as an imperative in the Ayah:

“Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High"

Glorification is Exaltation:

What is the meaning of "glorify"? We have different meanings of the w ord glorify, w e have Sabbeh “Glorify” as an imperative, and Sabbaha

“Glorif ied” in the past tense, and Sabaha “Sw im” w hich has three meanings in Arabic f irst of w hich is that

someone is more conversationalist than the other, the second is to sw im, and the third is to dive deep in theground, so the w ord Sabaha “sw im” holds the meaning of w ondering around and moving, also if w e saySabaha Al Qaum “The guys sw im” means they spread through, but the w ord (the subject of this lecture)Sabbaha “glorify” means praying in the follow ing Ayah:

“Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High”

Some say that glorif ication means exaltation, or to deem Allah far above w hat is inappropriate to Him, forexample w e can say that you are existed and Allah is Existed, yet His Existence is unlike yours.

You w ere created out of nothing and w ill end in Nonexistence, but Allah the Exalted and Glorious is Eternal,Everlasting, and w hen w e say: glorify Allah, w e mean praise Him highly and exalt Him above all w hat isinappropriate for Him of human’s attributes, if you say:

“Verily, this (the Qur'an) is the Word that separates (the truth from the falsehood, and commandsstrict laws for mankind to cut the roots of the evil). And it is not a thing of amusement. Verily, they are but plotting a plot(against you O Muhammad{p.b.u.h}). And I (too) am planning a plan.”

The meaning of "glorify" is: interpret this verse in a w ay that is appropriate to His Being, the Most High (asAllah’s plan can’t be compared to people’s plotting):

“They were plotting and Allah too was plotting ;and Allah is the Best of those who plot.”

[Surat Al Anfal]

The meaning of "glorify" here is to exalt Allah above the plotting of humans, because the plot of the people isevil, but w hen Allah plots, He does this in the favor of people.

The word “Knowledge” means acquaintance of Allah:

When w e read:

“And if We had willed, surely We would have given every person his guidance, but the Word fromMe took effect(about evil-doers), that I w ill fill Hill w ith jinn and mankind together.”

If w e say:

“Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High”

Allah meant for this Ayah to fall w ithin w hat is appropriate to His Merciful entity, and the meaning ofglorif ication is the exaltation, but the question to be is: Who glorif ies Allah the Almighty? It is he w ho know s Him. Therefore glorif ication’s meaning includes the acquaintance of Allah the Almighty.

A Bedouin asked the Prophet (p.b.u.h), he said: O Allah's Messenger, I came to you to teachme about quasi sciences (none-academically based sciences), the Prophet (p.b.u.h) said: whathave you done with the origin of science? The Bedouin said: What is the origin of science? The

Prophet said: Do you have any acquaintance of Allah? The Prophet said: [the head of the religion isthe acquaintance of Allah].

Wherever the w ord "Al-Elm" (know ledge) is mentioned either in the Qur'an or in the Sunna (the PropheticTraditions), it means the acquaintance of Allah:

“Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High”

The Ayah means to Exalt Him above all w hat is inappropriate to Him, and w hen does that occur? It is a rule of thumb that w hen you hear something bad about someone w hom you know very w ell, you w ill

be the aptest person to deny it because of your acquaintance of him. The same applies w hen you haveacquaintance of Allah the Almighty, as w hen you know Allah that w ell, you w ill deny and disapprove anythingthat is inappropriate to His divine entity.

We can’t glorify Allah unless we know Him:

Therefore, no one can glorify Allah unless he/she know s Him, but unfortunately, at the end of days, mostpeople void these great w ords of their real meaning so their comprehension of w ords like:

“Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High”

Comes dow n to holding a rosary and repeatsaying: Subhan Allah (glorify Allah), subhana Allahand the heart is distracted.

This isn't the glorif ication, yet glorif ication shouldbe by exalting Allah above everything that isunsuitable to Him:

“Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High”

Did you exalt Allah above all w hat is inappropriateto Him? How can I exalt You my Lord? Allah the Greatand Almighty says to you: Did you know Me?

[O son of Adam! Ask for Me and you will findMe and if you find Me you will have found

everything, but if you lose Me you will havelost everything. And I should be dearer than

everything to you.].

[Ahmad]

Therefore, w hat did he w ho failed to know Allah gain, and w hat did he w ho know s Him lose? If Allah is w ithyou, w ho w ill be against you, and if He is against you, w ho w ill be w ith you:

“Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High”

Namely, try to know Allah so that you can glorify Him. If you read the Ayah:

"Then He showed him what is wrong for him and what is right for him."

(Ash-Shams, 8)

If you glorify Allah (you knew Allah), you w ill say: He inspired the soul that this deed is w rong, but if you areone of those w ho doesn’t know Allah, you w ill say: He inspired the soul to do this bad deed, as if you aresaying that Allah leads the soul to do the w rong deed then He punishes it by hellf ire, w hile the correct meaningis: He gives the soul an inner balance for every deed by feeling hardship w hen committing sins so that the soulknow s that it is a bad deed, but on the other hand if someone doesn’t know Allah, he/she w ill think that thisAyah means that Allah lead souls to sin.

Acquaintance of Allah is the gist of religion:

If you are glorifying Allah and you read the follow ing Ayah:

"While Allah has created you and what you make!"

[Surat As-Saffat, 96]

You w ill search for the complement of this Ayah to get the full meaning of it and you w ill f ind the follow ing:

"He said:" Worship you that which you (yourselves) carve? While Allah has created you and whatyou make!"

[Surat As-Saffat, 95-96]

Thus, you w ill say: the context of this verse is w arning against the idolatry.

"He said:" Worship you that which you (yourselves) carve? While Allah has created you and whatyou make!"

[Surat As-Saffat, 95-96]

If you know Allah and glorify Him, and you read the follow ing Ayah:

“He cannot be asked questioned as to what He does, while they w ill be questioned.”

[Surat al Anbiaa, 23]

You w ill say: He cannot be questioned as to w hat He does because of His Justice that silences the mouths, but if you do not know Him, you w ill say: Because of His Might, w ho can question Him? What a differencebetw een the tw o meanings.

Hence, the glorif ication is the exaltation, and this cannot be w ithout the know ledge, because of that, theknow ledge about Allah is the core of the religion, as the Prophet (p.b.u.h) said:

[ Acquantance of Allah is the core of my religion, the love is my basis, the longing is my vehicle, and the remembrance of Allah is my companion, the poverty is my pride, the contentment is myextend, the certainty is my strength, knowledge is my weapon, poverty is my garb, contentment

is my gain, and my joy is satisfied by the prayer].

The acquaintance of Allah is the core of the religion that makes the acquaintance of Allah is our moralcapital.

Other meanings of the word Sabbaha (glorified):

The w ord "glorify": if w e say, for example, to a student seek a high degree, w hat w ill be understood of thisquestion? It w ill be to enroll to a university and seek for that degree, in other w ords, that means studying hard, isn’t that true?

Same goes w ith the w ord "glorify" as it is a Divine Order that includes another order, that is: know Allah toglorify and to exalt Him.

For this reason the human being w as created:

[ I created the heavens and the earth for you, so do not exhaust yourself, and I created you forMyself, so do not dally (play), by My Right on you, do not busy yourself w ith what I have ensured

for you over what I have enjoined you].

It is a Divine Order: glorify is to say: the Existence of Allah the Exalted and Glorious is unlike ours, HisHearing is unlike ours, His Sight is unlike ours, His Patience (Forbearance) is unlike ours, and His deed is unlikeours, exalt Him above w hat is unsuitable for Him. This is a sense; there is another sense, the veneration, andthere are more meanings of "glorify", among w hich is to rove the kingdom/dominion of the heavens and theearth, and to reflect on the Greatness of Allah the Great and Almighty.

"He is Who has appointed for you the night that you may rest therein, and the day to make thingsvisible(to you). Verily, in this are Ayat(proofs, evidences, signs, verses.etc.) for a people who

listen(i.e. those who think deeply)."

(Surat Yunus-67)

How are deluded aw ay from the truth you are? What is your destiny? What does distract you? What doeskeep you busy? What w ill save you? What is your purpose?...etc.

Allah said:

"Thus were turned away those who used to deny the Ayat (proofs, verses, signs, etc.) of Allah."

[Surat Ghafer, 63]

Know Allah in prosperity He looks after you in your hour of need:

If you do not cogitate about the Ayat of Allah, you w ill turn to something else, if you do not reflect on thesigns that Allah created in heaven and earth, and in the creation of human, animal, and plant, you w ill turn toother than Him.i.e. w orldly life.

So, the w ord "glorify" means know Allah so you can exalt and venerate Him, hence,[ know Allah inprosperity, He w ill know you in the adversity].

"Take the opportunities of five before five (that may happen afterwards):Your youth before your senescence, your health before your illness, and your spare time before

being busy, and your richness before your poverty, and your life before your death".

[Al Hakem and Baihakee narrated by Ibn Abbas]

"Hasten to do good deeds".

“Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High,"

Therefore, the w ord "glorify" means know Allah so you can exalt and venerate Him, the Prophet (p.b.u.h)said:

" The favorable judgment about Allah is the price of the Paradise"

Whoever poorly perceives Allah’s actions certainly does not know Him, w hoever thinks that Allah createdthe creatures to torment them does not know Allah, w hoever thinks that Allah sent incomplete Messengersdoes not know Allah (as His Messengers should be seen as the symbol of the human perfection), and w hoeverthinks that Allah created us purposeless does not know Him.

“And We created not the heaven and the earth and all that is between them without purpose! That

is the consideration of those who disbelieve! Then woe to those disbelieve from the Fire!”

(Surat Sad,27)

Either Human knows Allah or not:

Whoever thinks that w e w ere created vainly doesn’t know Allah, Allah says:

"Did you think that We had created you in play(without any purpose), and that you would not bebrought back to Us? So Exalted be Allah, the True King:La ilahaa illa Huwa(none has the right to be

worshipped but He), the Lord of the Supreme Throne!”

(Surat Al-Mu'minun,115-116)

”And you were harbouring doubts about Allah.”

(Surat Al-Ahzab-10)

Human being belongs to one of tw o parties: those w ho know Allah, or those w ho don’t, so he w ho know sHim w ill comprehend the w isdom behind everything, w hereas he w ho doesn’t know Him w ill never comprehendthe w isdom behind anything and consequently w ill be the biggest loser on Doomsday.

Therefore, Sabbaha means glorify w hich needs acquaintance of Allah. A Bedouin asked the Prophet PBUH: What is the origin of science? The Prophet said: Do you have any

acquaintance of Allah? The Prophet said: [the head of the religion is the acquaintance of Allah]. Imam Al-Ghazali said: w herever the w ord (Al-Elm) is mentioned; it means the acquaintance of Allah w hich

requires high price yet it has astounding outcomes. The outcome of applied sciences is a know ledge that is stored in the brain yet their holder (the scientist)

might be stingy, hard hearted and sordid, on the other hand, the soul of he w ho has acquaintance of Allah w illsublime.

Cogitating in regard of Allah’s divine entity is prohibited:

Striving is the price for know ing Allah and its results are outstanding, as it does not remain in the brain, but itturns into tolerance, lof tiness, mercy, kindness, compassion, pity, justice, fairness, and w arm-heartedness..

The Prophet PBUH said w hen he looked at his companions describing them:

((They are so scholarly and wise that they are almost prophets))

Why glorify the Name instead of "glorify Allah"?because the Word (Allah) refers to the divine entityw hich is beyond comprehension w hereas Allah’sglorif ied Names and best Attributes arecomprehensible, needless to say that the universe isa manifestation of His Glorif ied Names (Attributes).

If you w ant to have an idea in regard of HisKnow ledge or His Might, the universe w ill be at yourdisposal, and if you w ant to know His Mercy, creatures w ill be at your disposal, consider how Hecreated the mercy in mothers' hearts.

Go to the children hospital and observe the

parents looking after their ill kids (as you might see aman, w ho doesn’t’ cry at all, might break into tears ifhe w as told that his son has got meningitis), w ho didput the mercy in their hearts? The answ er to that w illbe Allah the Great and Almighty.

This universe is manifestation of the Allah’s glorif ied Names and best attributes, therefore, Allah said: Glorifythe Name, w hich means: reflect on His creatures not on His entity that is beyond any comprehension.

When someone reflects on Allah’s entity and is not able to comprehend, that w on’t be a result of impotencein the mind rather than misusing it, same as using a scale, w hich capacity is to w eigh only 2 Kilograms, to w eigha 30 Tons truck that w ill results in breaking it, not because it is not a good scale rather than it w as used forother purposes than those it w as make for.

“And when Musa(Moses) came at the time and place appointed by Us, and his Lord(Allah) spoketo him; he said:"O my Lord! Show me (Yourself), that I may look upon You". Allah said:"You cannotsee Me, but look upon the mountain; if it stands still in it place then you shall see Me." So whenhen his Lord appeared to the mountain, He made it collapse to dust, and Musa(Moses)fell down

unconscious. Then w hen he recovered his senses he said: Glory be to You, I turn to you inrepentance and I am the first of the believers".

(Surat Al-A'raf-143)

Allah’s Names are comprehensible through universe:

If w e throw a paper of a cigarette in a furnace, and say: w hat happened to it? The answ er to that ofcourse w ill be that the blaze has completely vaporized it.

“Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High,”

For example, f ind the meaning of the Name:Al-Latif (The Gentle) in the clouds that are passingby, or in the milky tooth that falls easily w ithout anypain in any kids’ mouth, unlike the permanent tooththat needs a painful sting of an anesthetic needle topull off.

You can also f ind that meaning in the air that iskind to us by transmitting the light, heat, coldness andsound because it is light yet it is able to carry a 350tons’ airplane! What does this mean? This means: theair is valuable and it can carry it and you can valuethat air and sense it as a gentle creature bystretching your hand out of the car to feel the greatresistance that pushes it backw ards.

You comprehend the meaning of the name Allatif(gentle) from observing the clouds’ motion, youcomprehend the name Mighty by observing the earth silent motion and stability (w hich if w ent through a blackhole w ill compress to the size of an egg that still w eighs 10 thousand trillion tons), and you comprehend thename The All-Know ing by reading about human creation and by know ing that human being has 13 million retinarodes in one millهmeter square, hence, w e are able to comprehend all Allah’s glorif ied names by reflecting on theuniverse.Allah’s Might and Gentleness are greater than w e think:

“Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High, "

The closest of Allah’s attribute to the human being is “ Ar-Rab” (the Lord), it means the All-Know er, theAll-Wise rearing, the Compassionate, and w ho rears, ow ns, so He supplies humankind w ith food and drinks.

In last lesson, in interpreting Surah At-Tariq, Allah the Great and Almighty said:

“So let man see from what he is created! He is created from a water gushing forth, Proceedingfrom between the backbone and the ribs.'"

This is the blessing of supply:

“By the sky (having rain clouds) which gives rain, again and again And the earth which splits(w iththe growth of trees and plants).”

This is the blessing of supply. He created youfrom a w ater gushing forth, then He supplied youw ith food and drink by bringing dow n rain andgrow ing plants.

“Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High,”

Why " Glorify the Name of your Lord"? BecauseHe is the Most High, the superlative (form), it meansthat there is no end for His Highness and His Mighty, some said: the w ord "Allahu-Akbar=Allah is the MostGreat" ( the prayer's beginning is the ablution, and itsinterdict (i.e. you are prohibited from doing any thingelse w hile you are praying) is At-Takbir that to say:Allahu Akbar and its f inish is At-Taslim(to say:As-Salamu Alaikum=peace be upon you) means thatAllah is greater than everything, and some said:

Greater than our ability to comprehend, and no matter how much you comprehend or confine his kindness andgreatness, He is still Greater than that:

”-Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High,”

That means no end for His Highness and Greatness, hence, how can this Great God be renounced, ordisobeyed?! Glorif ied be Allah!!.

Allah’s will is effective over His creations unlike creatures:

“Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High, Who has created(everything),and thenproportioned it.”

The Creator is unlike the creature; the Creator has influential Will over His creatures, but the creature actsaccording to the Creator's Will. Allah created you, and if He w illed, He w ouldn’t have done, and He gave you thehearing and sight, and if He w illed, He w ouldn’t have done. He bestow ed you the ability to cogitate:

“And if it had been Our Will, We could have transformed them(into animals or lifeless objects)intheir places. Then they would have been unable to go forward(move about) nor they could have

turned back.”

(Surat Ya-Sin-67)

The mind is a blessing and for example I’ve heard about a person w ho occupied a high position as theMinister of Justice at the time of the Ottoman Empire, yet w hen he w as brought back to the miserable old age hew as unable to f ind his w ay back home w hich made his w ife calling for the police to f ind him.

“And if it had been Our Will, We could have transformed them(into animals or lifeless objects)intheir places. Then they would have been unable to go forward(move about) nor they could have

turned back.”

I personally know a person w ho drove his car one w eek before his death from his factory to his home, buthe w andered aimlessly for an hour and a half, till he reached his son's house to ask him: ‘w here is my houseson’?!

You are a subject to the Will of Allah the Great and Almighty. He gave you the mind, and if He w illed, Hew ouldn’t have done, and He gave you the strength. Can you imagine that a tiny blood clot that is less than onecubic millimeter if clots in an artery in the brain w ill cause a complete paralysis, and as an example I have arelative w ho w as paralyzed by a stroke and he stayed in his bed motionlessly and mutely, his hand w as as apiece of meat on his belly.

No obedience to a creature in disobeying the Creator:

Allah said:

“Who has created(everything),and then proportioned it.”

Who gave you the strength? Who gave you thesight? Who gave you the hearing? If you havebuzzing in your ear, you w ill get annoyed and w illsay: I have an otitis and I should see a doctor, if youhave blur in your eye, that w ill annoy you and you w illrush to a doctor, if you have a deep cut in your handand the interior nerves appear that w ill annoy you,and if you have a toothache, you w ill be unable tosleep all night out of pain and w hen the dentist plucksout your tooth you w ill realize that a nerve that isthinner than a string is w hat caused you the all nightpain.

“Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High,Who has created(everything),and then

proportioned it.”

He is the Creator. Is there anything or anyone deserves to be w orshiped w ith Him? [ No obedience to acreature in disobeying the Creator]When Allah said:

“Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High, Who has created (everything),and thenproportioned it.”

What is the proportion? On my w ay to you, an example came to my mind: if a person has a car, and w antsto build garage for it, if this garage is narrow er than the car, he w on’t be able to go in w ith the car, and if it is

shorter than the car, the door w on’t close, and if it is the exact size of the car, the door w on’t open, so he mustbuild a w ell-proportioned garage, this means there is a proportion.

Everything in the universe is well-designed by The All-Wise:

Our Lord said:

”You can see no fault in the creation of the Most Gracious.”

The distance betw een the sun and the earth is w ell measured:

“The sun and the moon run on their fixed courses(exactly) calculated w ith measured out stagesfor each(for reckoning).”

If the sun slightly gets closer, the earth w ill burn, and if it slightly moves aw ay, it w ill be frozen! Thedistance betw een the moon and earth is carefullycalculated, if it approaches half its distance, the tidew ould increase by sixty times, w hich means that theheight of the ebb and f low w ould be one hundred andtw enty meters high and the w ater w ill cover all thecoastal cities. The size of earth is measured by The All-Wise,All-Know er, the velocity of the earth's revolutionaround itself is w ell proportioned in accordance ofthe man's energy, giving mankind tw elve hours of daylight, and tw elve hours in the night, if it revolvesfaster, or the moon is perished, the earth w ill rotatearound itself once every four hours, and that w ill givemankind only tw o hours of day light and tw o hours in

the night w hich w ill result in a terrible chaos on earth.

“Who has created(everything),and then proportioned it.”

Allah created everything around us in precise measures that is adequate to human’s capabilities, thereforeeverything is w ell-designed by the All-w ise All-know er such as the earth’s orbit around the sun, the seasons,w ater supplies, and air’s composition.

Everything in the universe is exploited to mankind:

There are mountains that reserve the fresh w ater w ithout w hich fresh w ater w ould not have been stored, there are enough deserts to create low pressure in the air, there are level lands enough to produce food formankind, and there are seas that are considered the largest w ater store.

If the exterior layers of the earth w ere impermeable, and the interior ones w ere permeable, there w ould beno w ells to be found.

“Who has created(everything),and then proportioned it.”

If you need a protein, you w ill f ind it in sheep and in chickens (We subdued them unto them), needless to

say that some of the animals are exploited to mankind to be ridden:

“And (He has created) horses, mules, and donkeys for you to ride and as an adornment.”

Unlike now adays, as there are rockets, jumbo planes and luxurious cars.

”And He creates (other) things of which you have no knowledge.”

(Surat An-Nahl-8)

Who did create the petroleum/oil? Who gave it this explosive pow er? Who created the iron? Who created the human brain that invented the explosive engine?

“And He creates (other) things of which you have no knowledge."

“Who has created (everything),and then proportioned it.”

Allah the Almighty created everything and proportioned it:

Everything in the universe is perfectly created, if w e take the earth as an example, its temperature iscreated in a suitable range and if it exceeds 100 degrees above zero or is decreased less than 200 degreesbelow zero, there w ill be no life on it, if its axis w as horizontal parallel to its revolving level, it w ill stay put, andas a result w e w ill have on half of it forever day light and on the other half forever night, and if the axis w asvertical on its revolving level, w e w ill not have seasons, hence, the axis is created to be slightly slant so w e w illhave alternation of day and night:

“ Verily! In the creation of the heavens and the earth, and in the alternation of night and day, thereare indeed signs for men of understanding.”

And w e w ill have alternation in seasons.

“Who has created(everything),and then proportioned it.”

Wood is needed in our life and every kind of tree w ood has its ow n use, so if w e w ant f ire fuel (f irew ood),or houses’ sealing w e use poplar trees, if w e w ant to make furniture w e use beech trees, it w e w ant w ood forsupporting concrete w e use lumber trees as nails penetrate it unlike beech w ood w hich is solid, and there areother kinds of w ood such as the oak trees, apricot trees and olive trees.

Allah has created (everything), and then proportioned it. if He created one kind of food for you, you w ill bebored, so He created many kinds of foods and fruits for you, and If He created w omen w ith the ability to bearchildren as long as they live that w ill be unacceptable (as w hen w omen gets older they w on’t have the healthor strength either to bear children or to raise them).

“Who has created(everything),and then proportioned it.”

The universe is a subject for reflection:

If w ater keeps shrinking w hen it is frozen, w e w on’t have life on earth. When w ater reaches the degree 4 above zero it starts to expand instead of shrinking unlike other

substances on earth (w hich expand by heating and shrink by cooling), and this property of w ater keeps theoceans from freezing because w hen w ater expands after reaching 4 degrees, its density decreases and the

ice layer f loats as a result on the surface, and if w ithout this property the ice layer w ill sink and another layerw ill be frozen and sink till the w hole ocean is frozen and as a result there w ill be no w ater’s evaporation, norains and no life at the end.

“Who has created(everything),and then proportioned it.”

So, there is a proportionality..

“Who has created the seven heavens one above another; you can see no fault in the creation ofthe Most Gracious.”

(Surat Al-Mulk-3)

Allah created plants and herbs especially for sick animals, in fact, all the universe is a subject of reflecting..

“Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High, Who has created(everything),and thenproportioned it. And Who has measured; and then guided.”

The soil, for example, contains many materials, if w e imitate it by dissolving sugar, salt, soapy substanceand citric acid in w ater, and put capillary tubes in it imitating the sap capillaries of the tree, is it reasonable thatsome of these capillary tubes absorb only the salt and leave everything else?!.. impossible. Is it possible thatanother tube absorbs the sugar w ith w ater only? Impossible. These materials have dissolved in the w ater, andthe tubes are irrational unlike trees sap capillaries that know exactly w hat to absorb and w hat not to absorb.

Plants indicate the Greatness of Allah:

You might f ind many various fruit trees on thesame ground, such as apples, pears, peaches, andgrapes...etc, yet taste of one is different from theother, although, they are planted in the same soil andare fed by the same materials.

The w ater in the soil dissolved these materials, sohow did the apple takes the sugary taste, the peachtakes the acid f lavor, and the date takes the sw eettaste...etc?

“And in the earth are neighbouring tracts, andgardens of vines, and green crops(fields) anddate-palms, growing into two or three from asingle stem root, or otherwise(one stem rootfor every palm), watered with the same w ater;

yet some of them We make more excellentthan others to eat. Verily, in these things there are Ayat(proofs, evidences, signs.etc)for the

people who understand.”

(Surat Ar-Ra'd-4)

Who guided these rootlets, namely, the absorbing capillaries in the root? To choose the potassium, iron, phosphorus, and calcium, w hereas the other root chooses different materials.

“And Who has measured; and then guided.”

Allah put the material that is suff icient for plants to grow , and guided the roots to take their needs from thesematerials.

But if w e imitate that process it w ill be impossible for human being to resemble that by using same materialsthat is dissolved in w ater and expect the capillary tubes he put to be selective, it is impossible.

“Who has created(everything),and then proportioned it.3-And Who has measured; and thenguided.”

Roots of plants deserve reflecting on:

Another example: if w e take one gram of seedsthere w ill be such seventy thousands seeds in it, andas tiny and similar as they are, yet they grow to bedifferent kinds of roses and f low ers so w e have thered and the yellow and each one has its ow n color, shape, leaves, roots, and behavior as some need sunlight w hile others need shade, some need lot of w aterw hile others are killed by excessive w ater, and somelive indoors w hile others live outdoors, so there areso much of properties in each seed.

“And Who has measured; and then guided.”

The salmon f ish is another example, as they comefrom the sources of rivers in America and immigrateto Atlantic to die there.

How the new young f ish know their w ay back totheir birthplace; the salmon sw im w estw ard, from theAtlantic to America, some of them take the Amazonas their destination, because they w ere born in thesources of Amazon, others aim for the Mississippi, because there w ere born there, w ho guided them?

There is a sort of f ish that comes from the sourceof the Nile tends to its estuary, then sw imsw estw ards to the strait of Tariq Mountain(south ofSpain) then it crosses La Manche (English Channel)then it proceeds to the North Sea, then it returns tothe Nile' sources again. Who guided them?

“Fir'aun (Pharaoh)said: "Who then,OMusa(Moses), is the Lord of you two?".

[Musa(Moses)] said:"Our Lord is He Who gaveto each thing its form and nature, then guided it aright."

(Surat Taha,49-50)

Bees’ creation indicates the Greatness of Allah:

Bee is another example; w ho guided it to build itscell? Who taught it the hexagon, w hich is thegeometric shape that leaves no gaps, w ho taught it?

Who taught some of them to stand at the door assentries for guarding, and they do not allow any beeto enter unless it says the passw ord, and if it doesn’tit w ill be killed, because the bee that forgets thepassw ord w ill be killed! Who taught them to air thehive? The bees stands at the doors of the hive andmove their w ings quickly w hen the w eather is hot inorder to ventilate the cell, and w hen it is cold, theyclose the doors in order to w arm the hive, w ho taughtthem that?

Who taught them that the queen bee should befed w ith special food, and there are special maids forthe queen? The maids bring the pollen mixed w ith the

flow ers' nectar w hich makes the special food for the queen, w ho taught them? Who inspired the bee to killevery strange insect in the cell, if there happens to be a mouse in the hive that cannot be killed nor pulled out bythe bees, they cover it w ith w axy substance to keep it from decaying, w ho inspired them? Who taught the beethat w hen it is loaded w ith the nectar, it should give the other bees the load, and returns to the previous place tosave the time, w ho taught the bee to dance? By the sort of dancing that the bee performs, the rest know thedistance betw een the bee and the f low ers, there is a special dance for 10 kilometer, another dance for antherdistance, and by that, the bees know how far the f low ers are even before they come out of the hive.

Who informed the queen its egg’s sex? As it stands in a place intended especially for the males and lays itsegg w hile it stands in another place intended for females and lays its egg, this is something can’t a pregnantgynecologist know in regard of her fetus? But the queen bee know s.

“Fir'aun (Pharaoh)said: "Who then,O Musa(Moses), is the Lord of you two?".

"[Musa(Moses)] said:"Our Lord is He Who gave to each thing its form and nature, then guided itaright."

There are many examples in regard of this verse:

“Who has created (everything),and then proportioned it. And Who has measured; and thenguided.”

Incredible facts about the creation of man, animal, and plant:

In regard of birds; if you observe the sw allow inits nest in any house in Damascus, you w ill see that itimmigrates in w inter tow ards south (to Africa), and inspring it comes back to the same nest and the samehouse, w ho inspired it to take a specif ic angle toreach Damascus? If it deviates one degree fromAfrica, it w ill end up in Egypt (instead of Damascus),if deviates another degree it w ill end up in Baghdad,w ho gave it the coordinates to reach its place inDamascus? Needless to say that it is covering tenthousand kilometers back and forth, w ho taught it

that?

“And Who has measured; and then guided.”

Sometimes sick animals eat special herbs forhealing. The tree consumes its ow n leaves as a sign that it needs w ater, and w hen it thirsts, the leaves turninto yellow , and as its leaves are not very important, it sacrif ices them for its survival, then its branches w ither, then its trunk, w hich is, in comparison w ith its roots, unimportant, and all these sacrif ices are made to keep theroot alive for its ow n survival, w ho taught it this strategy?

When scientists analyzed a green leaf, they found pores on its surface, these pores stay open all w intertime, and closed in the summer, w hy? Because there is humidity in w inter, and in summer these pores comecloser to each other and close, this is w hy the leaves keep its freshness during summer, w ho taught it to dothat? Allah the Exalted and Glorious w ill be the answ er to that question.

As another example: there is a membrane betw een the cells and the blood stream, and they resemble astreet (the blood stream) w ith buildings on the right side and the left side (the cells) yet there is a veil thatcovers those building to prevent any comer from the street from entering the building, this membrane opens ahole to let the potassium, for example, into the cell w hen it is needed, and w hen the cell takes its need, the holecloses, as if there is a big mind planning to feed these cells. The blood is rich of nutrients of all kinds so thatevery organ takes its need, so the pancreas takes its need, the gallbladder also, the liver, the tear glands, thesaliva, and every organ that the blood runs through, takes all w hat it needs from the blood stream. In some places there is an alkaline secretion; in other places there are non-alkaline ones, in some there isacidity, hydrochloric acid, or mild substance. Where do these substances, that the endocrine glands secrete, take their raw substances from? The answ er is from blood stream.

Who ordered the pancreas to take from blood stream such and such substance? It is He Who created thenproportioned, and measured then guided, and there are astonishing facts in the creation of the man, animal andplant.

Allah the Almighty guided His creatures to seek their needs:

If w e take the w oodpecker as an example, it is a bird that feeds on w orms and lives in the pine trees, butw hat is strange about this bird is that it pecks its w ay through the tree trunk by its 12 centimeters long beak inorder to catch the w orm that lives inside the trunk, so do you know of any laser rays, or infra red rays that candetect the exact place of the w orm in the trunk? Who guided it to its exact place? The answ er is: Allah theExalted and Glorious..

When the bees build the hexagon hive, some bees begin from one side and the others begin from the otherside, till they meet on regular hexagon shape, w ithout taking any measurement beforehand, did they measurethe w idth of the hive then they divide it evenly? Impossible; there is a bigger plan (The plan of Allah Whoinspired them).

“Who has created(everything),and then proportioned it. And Who has measured; and thenguided.”

When man eats more than his/her need, the fat accumulates in his/her body, but w hen he/she w ants to slim,w hich fat melts f irst? It is the last one that w as accumulated in the body. Who gave these instructions? Whoseplan is this? That exactly w hat happens in cases of famines, as body starts to consume the fat (w hich isconsidered as a nutrient store) f irst and w hen running out of it, the body starts to consume the muscles andw hen running out of it, the body starts to consume the bones, and the body saves the brain till the last minute oflife:

“He said:"My Lord! Indeed my bones have grown feeble,”

(Surat Maryam-4)

The universe is full of signs that indicate the Greatness of Allah:

When a young man once entered upon one of the Islamic Caliphs, the Umayad Caliph, looked at him in angerand said to his chamberlain: “Everyone w ho desires to enter upon me has an access to do so, even youngchildren!” The young man stood up and asked permission to talk. He said: “O Commander of the Faithful! Myentrance upon did not derogate from your privilege (as a Cliph), although it w as a great honor to me.” Then, hew ent on to say: “We have been visited by three years of drought and famine. One year consumed the fat (ofour bodies); the second devoured the f lesh; and the third crushed the bones!”

It is a scientif ic thinking as it w as put in order, the fat, the f lesh, then the bones, and f inally the brain. One of the unbelievable facts about the brain is that the cells of the brain cortex resist cancer, and there

have never been a single case of brain cortex cancer spotted yet, as it is the center of judgment, memory, vision, hearing, and imagining.

So the young man said to the Caliph: We have been visited by three years of drought and famine. One yearconsumed the fat (of our bodies); the second devoured the f lesh; and the third crushed the bones, and youhave surpluses in money, so, if it is for His(Allah) slaves, w hy do you w ithhold it from us and w e are Hisslaves? And if it is yours, so be charitable to us, truly, Allah does rew ard the charitable, and if it is ours, w hydo you hold it from us.

The Caliph said: By Allah, this boy left us w ith no excuse. How ever,

“Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High, Who has created(everything),and thenproportioned it. And Who has measured; and then guided.”

If you take a look at the ant's hole, you w ill f ind avery soft w hite substance at the entrance of it, andw hen you analyze it, you w ill f ind out that it is a massof the w heat embryo roots, and the ants know thatthese roots holds life w ithin w hich by little w ater,w heat w ill grow , w hich w ill cause damage to theant’s hole and this is w hy they keep this substanceaw ay, w ho guided the ant to this fact about plant? Ifants take lentil, w hich in some seeds has tw o embryoroots, they cut them off both, in order to make surethat they w on’t grow in the hole.

If you observe the butterf lies, you w ill see oneenters and after a w hile another one enters, the f irstbutterf ly is the female, and the latter is her male w hocomes to look after it, w ho guided it for that?

All the universe is full of signs (proofs, miracles,etc..)

The proportion in Allah’s creations:

Allah the Great and Almighty said:

“And on the earth are signs for those who have Faith w ith certainty.”

(Surat Adh-Dhariyat-20)

How many signs they are in the universe? How then are you turned aw ay? How then are you deceived? Will you not then see? Will you not then remember? Have you then no sense? Little thanks you give. Whenhuman disobeys Allah, then he is an ignorant in an ugly w ay.

“Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High, Who has created(everything),and thenproportioned it. And Who has measured; and then guided.”

"Created then proportioned " means: the proportionality means a lot, such like proportionality betw een theman and his environment as the suitable temperature for him is betw een 35 and 40 or even 50 degrees but not80 or 100 below zero, not to mention that there is the air, the w ater, the food, the drink, the minerals, the w ood,the f ire, the iron, the fuel…

“Who has created(everything),and then proportioned it.”

The egg, for example, you can obtain an egg every day, but if it w ere every month, then its price w ill jump to(25) Syrian pounds, if the apple tree bears only f ive apples in the season, a kilo of apple w ould be tw o hundredpounds, therefore, there is proportion in quantity, size, and taste.

If the apple w ere a bitter fruit then w ho w ould eat it? Or if it is of good taste but w ithout any nutritionalvalues, or if it contains all the desirable/w anted qualities but is hard like a rock, then a grinder w ould be neededto help you eating it. So, there is a taste, smell, shape, suppleness, beauty, color, and f lavor..

“Who has created(everything),and then proportioned it.”

Needless to say that It is easy to be picked, not that its tree is very tall to get.

Exalting and Sanctification need knowledge that is the head of religion:

Allah created the proportioned the w hole universe and He measured and guided all His creatures. He guided the roots and the cells, the same w ay as He guided the eye as it needs an alkaline substance that

can be obtained from blood, w ho informed it that this substance is good for tear? Allah the Exalted andGlorious..

What is incredible is that all the cells are nourished by the arteries and veins except one place in the bodythat is the cornea, because it is transparent.

If Allah created a net of arteries in the cornea, then as if w e w ill be looking through sieve, but it is nourishedin a special w ay, w hich is osmosis, as the f irst cell takes its need and others need for nutrition, then thenutrients are carried from one cell to another through the cell's membrane in order to keep the eye'stransparency. Who put an anti-freeze substance in the eye? Allah the Great and Almighty, your reflecting isw hat prove these verses to you:

“Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High,”

Comprehend His Names not his entity!, and the meaning of "Glorify": Exalt Him highly above and extol Him,the exalting and extolling require know ledge that is the head of the religion and the ultimate purpose of this life.

“Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High,”

No end for His Sublimity, His Perfection, His Mercy, His Pow er, He is the Most High, or “are you one of thehigh exalted”? Through Allah described some creatures that they are of the high exalted, but Allah is the MostHigh, and it is he w ho creates, it is His Will, and you have no w ill over the creations. If Allah had not createdyou, w ho are you then? Nothing!

“Has there not been over man a period of time, when he was not a thing worth mentioning?”

(Surat Al-Insan-1)

“Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High, Who has created(everything),and thenproportioned it. And Who has measured; and then guided.”
