Why Internships?Internships are temporary positions with an employer that are designed to provide on-the-job training in your � eld of study. While an MSC student, you can earn academic credit by completing an internship and in many cases you are also paid for the work you do. By working in your chosen � eld while an undergraduate, you not only can deepen your understanding of material covered in the classroom, you can also gain a competitive edge in the job market after graduation.

Internship Opportunities at Mesa State CollegeInternship opportunities at MSC are varied and companies that o� er internship positions range from programs on campus and local employers, to nationally recognized businesses and government agencies. Because internships provide students with hands-on experience in their � eld of study, and allow students to apply classroom learning to real-world situations, some majors require that you complete an internship. Experience has shown that internships are not only valuable educational experiences, but that they also provide a solid base for future employment. Previous Mesa State College students are now working in jobs obtained directly as a result of their internship experience.
