• Network card is an electronic device that connects a computer to a computer network, usually a LAN.

 • There are two types of network cards

Wired and Wireless

• A modem (modulator-demodulator) is a device that modulates an analogy carrier signal to encode digital information and demodulates the signal to decode the transmitted information.

computers that are linked in order to share resources (such as printers and CDs), exchange files, or allow electronic communications.

Computers in a network can communicate with each other and share data.

COMPUTER NETWORKS (Local Area Network, LAN) :• It is a kind of computer network connects

computers and other devices to each other in a limited geographical area as homes, schools, laboratories, offices and so on.

COMPUTER NETWORKS (Wide Area Network, WAN) :• That allows multiple devices to

communicate with each other is a huge network of physical or logical.

• Providing interconnection of local area networks are very large networks
