The road towards the International/World Energy Charter

1. Start of process related to possible “Updated Energy Charter” (UEC)

11/2012 √2. StG, with assistance of LAC, to examine legal implications of adoption of the UEC vis-à-vis ECT

2013 √3. Secretariat to prepare assessment of objectives, scope, benefits and costs/risks of UEC

2013 √4. Depending on outcome of work under par. 2 and 3 StG will resubmit draft decision to CC mandating StG to negotiate UEC

11/2013 √5. Provided mandate received StG to reconvene signatories of EEC to agree upon text conveying their understanding of UEC, its final name
