With the help of suitable project planning

OPERATOR PANEL LHT-SERIESOperator panels of the LHT-series are used wherever essential operator functionalities are required. Customers only pay for the features that they need for their applications. With an ideal price/performance ratio, these products help reduce the costs for machine operation, in serial machines, for example. The graphic operator panels demonstrate their strengths for smaller and medium-sized applications, such as mobile packers, industrial washing machines and baking ovens, die casting systems, automated soldering machines and other small machines.

LHT-seriesThe products of the LHT-series includes panel units with keypads and touch screen entry in six different sizes between 3 to 10.4 inch display size.

The versatile panels are brought to life with the help of the H-Designer, an intuitively used project planning tool with a broad functional scope. Thanks to flexible help programs that facilitate project creation in just a few minutes, the H-Designer is the perfect tool for simple to intermediate applications.

A large number of communications drivers makes it possible to easily connect up almost any conventional control system. Currently, there are more than 100 different driver protocols for PLC’s, frequency converters and servo controllers available.

Products of the LHT- and H-series are fully compatible with each other. The panels have two different brand labels dependant on the sales ares.

H-DesignerThe H-Designer is a versatile project planning software intuitively used for the panels from the LHT-series. It is impressive due to its

high user-friendliness and is perfectly suitable for users with control system skills and knowledge. Thanks to numerous help programs,

the project planners themselves can create complex applications in just a few minutes. The configuration software is available at

www.lauer-hmi.com.

Cross referencesThe cross-reference function makes it possible for the user to easily manage tags, objects and signals in the project. These can be

searched and listed in order to obtain an overview of their use. If necessary, data can be changed in the tag list. This change is then

automatically accepted in other areas in the project.

Offline and online simulationIn order to minimize the effort of starting up on site, thus saving time and money, H-Designer offers a powerful offline and online

simulation. This function makes it possible to test a project either on a PC or, in conjunction with an operator panel, to check control

system reactions and communication.

With an offline simulation, the developer can test the entire project in a very

short time as well as checking the functionality of all monitors and alarms.

Online simulation tests the communication and functionality

of the host controller (e.g. PLC or frequency converter).

Contact plan or macro functionThe H-Designer offers pre-fabricated modules, for example,

mathematical calculations, logical operators as well as bit settings,

thus saving valuable time. The modules can be easily connected to

one another or with other data in the project via the contact plan or

macro function.

Communications driverFor the H series, numerous communications drivers are available

free of charge. The constantly growing driver list can be used to

connect panels to various types of automation equipment, such as

PLC, frequency converters and servo controllers. New drivers are

continually developed and updated. The list covers drivers of all

important international brands such as Siemens, Omron and Allen

Bradley.

Multiple language supportMultiple language support is a considerable relief for all manu-

facturers that export worldwide. In this way, the programmer can

develop projects that can be implemented practically anywhere. If

this function is activated in the panel, the language setting can be

changed in the twinkling of an eye. Even the data on the user scren

can be changed during normal operation. The operator therefore

works in the desired language.

Multiple channel communication Multiple channel communication is a unique performance

feature that can be used to connect various controllers with

a serial connection or Ethernet port. Thanks to this flexible

OPERATOR PANEL EXTERThe product segment “PREMIUM” offers powerful operator panels that are used in almost all production processes. Typical ap-

plications are machine visualization on site with networking to a guidance system, or production processes that require convincing

user interfaces.

Equipped with a keypad or touch screen data entry option, there are more than 10 panels available with display sizes ranging

between 3 to 15 inches. A selection that offers the right model for almost any application.

EXTER seriesThe EXTER products come into use when intuitive operation and ergonomic design is requested. From pure installations to food produc-

tion to even transport equipment, packaging plants or water treatment and offshore applications, these compact panels can do their job

anywhere.

With the Information Designer, you can quickly and efficiently create impressive user interfaces for the entire EXTER series. Finished masks

and graphic objects are integrated into the interface through simple drag and drop. The Designer also creates detailed documentation. This

means that accompanying project documents are quickly prepared for the machine description.

Especially dimensioned to meet the needs of mobile machine operation, users are able to position themselves wherever they have the best view of the process. Thanks to its lightweight and ergonomic design, the EXTER Mobile is easy to carry. For longer use, there is an additional carrier strap that frees up your arms and hands for other tasks.

The connection for voltage supply, stop button as well as communication is established via a commercially suitable connection cable. INFORMATION DESIGNERWith the Information Designer, visualization projects are created for the EXTER series operator panels. The software is de-

signed such that even beginners can create their own applications in the blink of an eye. The usual Microsoft environment and

integrated help texts ensure that users are quickly able to familiarize themselves in the interface. An animated tutorial is

included in the scope of delivery that makes it easier for first-time users to become familiar with the software.

Reliable and flexible project and data exchange

The Information Designer makes communication between the operator panels

and the PCs easy. With the flexible communications options from the EXTER

series, data can easily be interchanged using a USB stick. Larger panels also

support the use of compact flash cards. A complete project or project sections

– as well as trends, formulas and alarm lists – can be transferred to and from

the operator panel via external memory, serial connections, TCP/IP or even

modem. System program updates can be downloaded into the operator panel

using the flash memory to ensure that your panel is always up to date.

Clear project documentationInformation Designer automatically manages all the project docu-

mentation. Powerful print functions make it possible to print out

the entire application or parts of it via a simple selection menu.

Selecting the menu languageInformation Designer offers the user the option of selecting the menu language:

Chinese (traditional or simplified) French, German, English, Italian, Spanish and Swedish.

From simple page layout to complex HMI functions with Information Designer

Many paths to a simple startAs suggestion and assistance for development, demo projects are con-

tained for each operator panel in Information Designer. It is simple to

re-use existing solutions because the blocks, texts and graphics between

the projects can be copied back and forth. A comprehensive directory of

static and dynamic graphics is stored in the tool box; this ensures a pro-

fessional appearance together with the internal graphics of the developer.

The finished projects are stored in the archive and can then be used for

future applications.

Simple updating of the drivers

The drivers are available free of charge and can be downloaded directly

from the Internet into the Information Designer. In doing so, Commu-

nication moduless for PLC’s, drivers and other automation components

can be called up from most manufacturers. All drivers that are used

with the EXTER series offer rapid and flexible solutions that are easy to

install and to use.

Effortless preparation in multiple languages A helpful feature of the EXTER operator panel is multiple language sup-

port which makes it possible to develop an application in up to ten lan-

guages. This gives the operator the option of changing the language in

ongoing applications. The times for start-up and installation are heavily

reduced in the case of export units.

With the set-up tutorial in Information Designer, multiple languages

support can be configured in as little as only four steps. The developer

translates only the applications texts. This is easily done because the

texts are exported into an editor such as Excel or Word and then im-

ported back to the same place after the translation. Because Windows

TrueType fonts are supported, the text style can be freely selected and

the fonts used automatically integrated in the project file.

EPC C2D SERIESThe EPC C2D panel PC serves as a powerful process computer in complex visualization projects. The industry-friendly touch interface allows you to enter parameters directly on the screen. With its high performance based on a Core™2Duo CPU it is ideal for a multitude of applications. These include SCADA software packages, image processing and SQL databases.

It is increasingly used in LAN networks with parent systems, particularly thanks to the fast Gbit networks. A multitude of onboard interfaces and optional fieldbus connections make the EPC C2D a multitalent in connection with other control components.

EPC NauticThe panel PCs and Box PCs from the EPC Nautic series distinguish themselves due to their failsafe hardware components for a reliable operation. Especially mounted hard drives offer a long service life in high vibration environments, as is frequent on ships. The product series contains general display sizes from 8.4 to 21 inch and offers customers the choice between touch screen and anti-reflection glass.

Nautic MonitorsThe monitors from the Nautic series have special functionalities that can be used both for automation as well as navigation tasks. Combined with the LAUER Box PCs from the EPC series or COTS PCs from third party suppliers, these monitors display electronic nautical maps or machine visualization of excellent quality. They further distinguish themselves due to a general product series of 15 to 21 inch displays in which the brightness can be continuously turned down to zero.

NAVIGATION MONITORThe Nautic series navigation monitors can be delivered in various sizes with a side ratio of 4:3 and 16:10. Equipped with a number of useful functions they meet high navigation visu-alization requirements. The brightness can be steplessly dimmed to zero in several ways: 1) via the eluminated front keypad, 2) via a serial interface. 3) As a special feature, the moni-tors have a LAN interface, which allows for dimming via Ethernet network. An integrated web browser ensures optimum dimming configuration. The stepless brightness adjustment is an important prerequisite for ECDIS and RADAR licenses.

A special type of anti-reflection glass guarantees optimum readability in daylight. Due to the low installation depth, the monitors are ideal for easy installation on ship bridges. The 115 to 230 VAC wide-range power supply ensures error-free operation for various supply voltages.
