1993

The first year!

Twenty years ago, January 1993, the doors of the International Montessori School opened at Rotselaerlaan 1, 3080 Tervuren. The first children attending were aged two to four years old. These children grew up, (some of them attending Montessori all

the way through Middle School), and now they are studying in universities all over the world.

The school grew up too. It expanded in locations and it expanded in age ranges.

Primary was developed, and then authorisation for the IB Middle Years Programme was obtained. Now we are ready for the International Baccalaureate Diploma Course!

A ‘School on the move’, ensures ‘Children on the move’!

In a changing world, education needs to change along side.

Our aim is to assist children in becoming independent and self-thinking individuals who work to create a better world for themselves and for others. Divergent thinking, responsibility, respect, empathy and international mindedness are some of

the key concepts we focus on here at school.

How? By means of providing education in unique and interesting buildings, having attractive classrooms, working with professional and caring staff who are in tune with each child, providing multi-age range classrooms that ensure a variety of

experiences, freedom and limits, independence, ownership and individualised education.

We hope to see you at the different events organised for 2013 and to experience together this dynamic ‘school and children on the move’ .
