Young at Heart Trip November 18 at 8:00 AM
We are visiting the Alabama
Baptist Historical Commission
and several other areas on
campus including the chapel and
the planetarium. Bring money
for lunch.
Our guest for our November
14th luncheon will be Debbie
Hallman. She will present a slideshow
of The Ark Encounter, the new
Christian theme park in Grant Co.,
Kentucky, which just opened in
July. Certainly hope you can be with
us. Ham, chicken, dressing,
cranberry sauce, and rolls will be
provided, so bring your usual yummy
covered dishes and come join us.
Dear Church Family, Thank you, thank you, thank you. My family and I had a wonderful day
Sunday. I was truly surprised by all that the church had planned for pastor
appreciation. I love you church and am honored to be your pastor.
Thank you also for the hard work you put into the Fall Festival. There were
91 non-member families who registered at the welcome table. Out of those
91 families we have already been able to make 86 contacts. Also, every child
that came through trunk or treat received a gospel tract. please pray that the
gospel seeds planted and the relationships started will continue to grow. It is
a beautiful thing to watch our church come together to do this ministry.
Romans 10:15

pel of good things!

1. Thanks to everyone who helped with 5th Quarter. We really
appreciate the snacks you brought. It was a successful night!
2. Middle School Fall Retreat: November 19-20 at Camp McDowell.
The cost to attend is $30. November 2 is the last day to sign up.
3. Essentials Study continues meeting Sundays at 5:30 in The Nest.
4. Because of the lack of snow last year, instead of having our Ski
Trip during Christmas break like years past, we are going to move the
trip to the four day weekend the students have in February. We will ski
at Wolf Ridge Ski Resort on February 18-21 and stay in
Asheville, North Carolina. The cost for the trip is $200 which includes
2 days skiing, 6 meals and 3 nights lodging. A $100 non-refundable
deposit is due Wednesday, December 7. The final balance will be due
on Sunday, January 8.
5. Since our Ski Trip is in February, I want to make you aware that
a $50 deposit for MissionFuge for the summer of 2017 will be due
on Wednesday, January 25. I know that is a lot of money at once, but
the organization has that deposit deadline. I wanted to tell you now, so
if your student wants to go to the Ski Trip and MissionFuge, you
can financially plan for the two payments that will be due near each
other
6. As always, please do not let money keep your student from
attending an event. Students who work at Swamp John's usually pay
very little for a trip. There are also scholarships available. If you need
assistance, please don't hesitate to ask.
7. A New Series in Surrender starts this month on the Book of Jonah.
