Objective : Developing, implementing, monitoring, evaluating common joint calls for transnational research projects in the Mediterranean area. Challenge : For some funding agencies it was their 1st participation to an international call. Learning and alignment (science / methods / criteria) were necessary. Method: Collaborative work to define the topics, the funding mechanisms, the rules of participation, the elaboration of the documents.

Methodology of the call implementation
1. Identification of topics : Survey / country
2. Fund raising : Funding Agencies contracts and signature
of memorundum of understanding
3. Preparation of the call documents , website platform for
submission and evaluation of proposals
4. Evaluation process: contact external evaluators and
compose a SEC with med scientists / final reports and
ranking list
5. Proposals submission / Statistics about the call
6. Validation by the call board and decision of funding.
