Department of Industrial and Production Engineering under the aegis of NIT Jalandhar is organizing an

“International Conference on Industrial and Manufacturing Systems” (CIMS-2020) from

09th -11th October, 2020. The present conference aims at providing a leading forum for sharing original

research contributions and real-world developments in the field of Industrial and Manufacturing Systems so

as to contribute its share for technological advancements. Globalization provides all around development and

this development is impossible without technological contributions.

About Dr. B. R. Ambedkar National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar

The Institute is named after Bharat Ratan Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, founder of Indian Constitution. The Institute

came into existence in the year 1988 as Regional Engineering College on a beautiful campus of about 154

acres close to the heart of Jalandhar City. The Institute obtained the status of “Institute of National Importance”

by Act of Parliament in 2007. The Institute is located on the G.T Road Amritsar bye-pass at a distance of 15

km from Jalandhar Bus Stand, 12 km from Jalandhar City Railway Station, and 18 km from Jalandhar Cantt

Railway Station. The Institute is well connected to the National Capital through rail and road link.

About Department of Industrial and Production Engineering

The Department of Industrial and Production Engineering was founded in 1989 and has shown its potential

to be as one of the vibrant department of the Institute. The department offers B. Tech., M. Tech. and PhD

programs. The department is offering B. Tech. (Industrial and Production Engineering) with an intake of 120

and two M. Tech. Programs one in Industrial Engineering and other in Manufacturing Technology with the

intake of 28 in each program. Presently (35) thirty-five research scholars are registered in the department

pursuing Ph.D. For the above programs, the course curriculum has been designed compatible to the existing

and emerging needs of the industry. The autonomy of the Institute is a privilege to the department in terms of

flexibility to modify and revise courses/syllabi at different time intervals to cater contemporary needs of the

Industry.

The Department has established state-of-the-art facilities in various laboratories. Adequate inputs of practical

training, industrial tours, case studies, project work and computer applications are given to support core theory

courses. The major research and consultancy area of the department includes Supply chain management,

Reliability and maintenance, Operations management, Quality control and Six sigma, Lean manufacturing,

Occupational health and safety, Ergonomics, Automation and robotics, Conventional and non-traditional

manufacturing processes, Casting and welding, Surface engineering etc.

CIMS – 2020 invites original research papers from students, teachers, scientists and researchers in academia

and industry to be presented in the conference. The conference shall provide a platform to all for sharing their

research findings in the field of Industrial and Manufacturing Systems. For the more information and

Author Guidelines

The presenters should submit an abstract of approximately 300 words with Times New Roman, 12 point,

fonts in Windows-based Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx) document through the following Easy Chair link:

https://easychair.org/conference?conf=cims2020 and also by attaching an e-mail to cims@nitj.ac.in by

mentioning the Broad Area as mentioned under call for papers/posters section and Type of Presentation (i.e.

Oral or Poster) in the mail subject with other relevant details. The abstract shall be reviewed by a peer

committee. Selected manuscripts will be accepted for either oral or poster presentation. After the acceptance

of the abstract, the authors are required to submit the full paper again through the same link of easy chair. All

the templates and detailed guidelines are available at website: https://www.nitj.ac.in/cims2020

All the presented papers will be published as conference proceedings. Selected Papers of the CIMS-2020 will

be considered for publication in Scopus Indexed Journals/Springer/Emerald/CRC Press-Taylor &

Francis/IGI Global book series. The paper sent to the journal/book series should be the broadly extended

version of paper presented at CIMS-2020. For the same, authors should intimate to the conference organizers

CIMS-2020. The Peer-Review will be performed by the Journal itself. Kindly check the conference website

for latest updates and information regarding the publication partners.

Registration Information

At least one author of each accepted paper must register by 31st July, 2020 in order for the paper to be included

in the proceedings. Student registrations are only acceptable if first author of the paper is a full-time student

at an Institution. The registration fees for participation in the conference (CIMS - 2020).
