INTERNATIONAL COLLABORATION FOR ACHIEVING SUSTAINABILITY DEVELOPMENT GOALS LPU‟s international collaboration focuses on the following key action areas: 1. Student Exchange 2. Student Exchange Student mobility to different parts of the world is an important agent to drive internationalization in HE. At LPU, student mobility or exchange study program entails attending or participating in non-degree semester study exchange programs, short courses, training, cultural exchanges, seminars and other conferences or meeting settings that are done outside of the country. LPU serves to bridge the gap between traditional textbook learning and career development for positive change through short-term, experiential education programs abroad. LPU‟s student exchange program continues sending students to partner universities and studying about challenges and initiatives around the world. LPU‟s aim is to continue reshaping higher education through International University tie ups by sending students for Quality Education (SDG4) and Decent Work and Economic Growth (SDG8) 1. Hancy Arora went to Lethbridge University in Canada to study Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure (SDG9). He studied communication technologies and how to implement them in the villages of India. It was a continued study done in the department of Computer Science Engineering at Lethbridge University. Three other students had started this study in the previous years. 1. Student Exchange

Student mobility to different parts of the world is an important agent to drive

internationalization in HE. At LPU, student mobility or exchange study program

entails attending or participating in non-degree semester study exchange programs, short

courses, training, cultural exchanges, seminars and other conferences or meeting settings that

are done outside of the country.

LPU serves to bridge the gap between traditional textbook learning and career development

for positive change through short-term, experiential education programs abroad. LPU‟s

4. Navya Nanduri,Shubham Jain went to King's College Canada to study the ethical business

practices in retail of food. They worked on supermarkets operations to improve the quality

purchase in nearby super markets of Lovely Professional University for Good Health and

Well-Being (SDG3) of the end customer of the supermarket.

5. Ayushman Trivedi went to Arkansas state University and Komal Preet went to

Curtin University, Australia to study about the recycling of electronic waste and its

carcinogenic effects on the environment. This was a comparative study and the students came

back and implemented the same within LPU to counter the issue of e waste at LPU. They

worked at Lovely Professional University on conducting awareness drives for the

Responsible Consumption and Production (SDG12)

6. Colonel Parminder Pal Singh, an army veteran came to Lovely Professional

University to study MBA and went to Curtin University, Australia to do a joint study on

Good Governance systems to reduce the Inequalities (SDG10). He eventually took the study

back to the army in India for the better working and coordination of the different ranks in the

army.

7. Sumant Bindal went on a fellowship to Taiwan Vegetable Centre to study about the

less water utilization in tomato crop in order to help life on land (SDG15) as the scarcity of

water is raising alarm all over the world.

8. ShankarKhosla studied innovation in sustainable cities and communities (SDG11)

with respect to technology. He learnt how to save water through deployment of artificial

intelligence on monitoring flow of water into dishwashers and wash rooms.

9. Anish and Koushik studied the architectural preservation of old ecological

infrastructure in Vilnius city and its implementation by juxtaposition in India with respect to

the variables of climate action (SDG13) and pollution effect.

10. Sambit Shome studied preservation of the forest land and how to decrease denudation

of forests affecting the wild life on the land (SDG15) with increasing urbanization in the tier

3 cities.

2. Projects and Consulting

Lovely Professional University bagged an Erasmus+ Capacity building in Higher

Education project by the name of Enhancing Green Economy in 3 countries of Asia

(EGEA). Under this project researchers at Lovely Professional University are aiming

at increase in quality of life on land (SDG15) by presenting the proposal on exploring

the use of agri waste for soil fertility, crop yield increase, energy, biogas production

and to treat waste water followed by knowledge dissemination among rural

communities through trainings, workshops and teaching modules by designing SOPs

for the production and usage of waste materials for various applications in the area of

water, energy and agriculture.

Lovely Professional University bagged an Erasmus+ Capacity building in Higher

(ENPRENDIA). LPU opened a center by the name of „The Centre for Women‟s

Studies and Research‟ for improving the life of women under Gender Equality (SDG

5). The Centre provides initiatives and programs that support the effective

contribution of women in the work environment and positive participation in society.

The Centre conducted many activities in the past years including workshops to teach

and achieve gender equality and Issuing reports on the status of women in Surveying

Mongolia : LPU worked with the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Sports

(MECSS), Mongolia to train their staff and Vajpayee Centre for Excellence in

Information Technology & set up a call center “Establishment of IT and BPO Centre

including Training at „Atal Bihari Communication and Outsourcing‟”. After a round

of discussions and visit of Mr. Aman Mittal, Additional Director to Mongolia. The

contract was awarded to Lovely International Trust on 5th August 2020 and the

contract was signed.This activity was carried out with a view to support Industry,

Innovation and Infrastructure (SDG9)

Espace France Centre was opened at LPU

along with French Government with a view to help Lovely Professional University

students to gain quality education (SDG4) in France. Espace France Centre works as

one point Centre for the students for higher education, Cultural events in France and

learning French language. It is like a mini French space defined in LPU where every

LPU student gets the benefit to avail the best possible French Education. The Centre

has also launched the France Alumni India network to reunite and reconnect former

3. Conferences Conclave Summits Calendar Year

4. Supporting Developing Countries

The University‟s International office were approached by Indonesian academic

colleagues to lead a project to help students in Indonesia for interactive classes digital

marketing and on mental well-being post the earthquake and Tsunami crisis in

2018.The International office then worked with the School of Business and Social

Sciences to develop the program which taught students on techniques in business and

encouraged discussions and study on battling issues after crisis. This activity was

done to support SDG3 Good Health and Well-Being and SD4 Quality Education

Together they provide various opportunities for international collaboration among academic

6. Faculty Visits for Research Studies and Data Collection

Dr. Andrew Tonge from Kent State University, USA visited Lovely Professional

University on 31-01-19 for doing research in the field of mathematics and the topic of

research was “When averages are extreme: probabilistic techniques in functional and

harmonic analysis”. He collected data to conduct a study on No Poverty (SDG1) and

economic difference between different societies of India.

Dr. Rupert Ward from University of Huddersfield was present at Lovely Professional

University on 13-03-2019 for interaction with students about Learn from historical

data, understand data in current context and then predict & forecast for the Decent

Work and Economic Growth (SDG8)

Mr. Henry Dawson and Dr. James Blaxland from Cardiff Metropolitan University,

UK were present at Lovely Professional University from 6-06-2019 to 15-06-2019 for

donating 14 laptops to NGO's namely Spinal Cord Injury Association, Saksham,
